  1. Thanks Mark. Power of the computer!!! Looks def. not Belgium but French Lizard pattern F2?? Para trouser. date about correct, used during the Algerian war period. Smock simlar age but diff. pattern. French DPM patterns looks even more confusing than British. :nut:
  2. Picked up today a rather nice riot helmet. Dated 85'. May be of intrest. Andy.
  3. Picked up today rather a nice smock and trouser. Was told it belonged to a Belgium Para. circa 1960-70. Printed label's in ink not too clear.Think...J.PAUWELS & Co. .......VILLE White sewn in label..21 Button fly on trousers, press stud pocket flaps. Smock.. Printed label...G.BEAUP.... SA............? All pockets etc. buttons. Any one confirm country etc. Thanks.
  4. Did you go to the car boot on the A5? What have you bought? Mark First one was Chirk, other two, think Wales. Very clean cold weather Parka and liner size 180/104. Artic woolly cap, unissued high leg boots, various other headovers/ gloves. All from a ex. harrier pilot. Should have seen other kit not parting with  Olive green bergen, not sure what pattern but dated 91' Riot helmet and visor, 85' (motor cycle type) Think/told Belgian Para smock/trousers, app. 1960's.(will post pics) late 44ptn. belt. A personal made 'bag' in DPM containg tent pegs, bungies, cord, and green string, SA80 combination tool. Very good day.
  5. Very nice indeed. Bringing it to Smallwood? Just got back my self, been car booting Wales!!:-) May need 'kit' poss. Belgian forces C1970's . P.S. would I need your FAL. :-D.
  6. Happened to me last year with the .50cal. Lucky I know a local chap who works for a f/a dealer. Inspected it for me, the three deact. stampings in the correct places, originaly London. took it to Birmingham, just restamped and cert. issued. I would get the certificate. Mine has been asked for and checked at events by the Military Police. No prob. if you have it, if not???? Have been threads on the forum about this subject. I think... brens, GPMG's etc. deactivation work required is not as damaging as to SMG's rifles etc.
  7. Looks like it's coming along a treat. Hows the loom in your project?
  8. Hello Bill, welcome to the forum. Andy.
  9. Taken up home in the camo nets 'stored' in my restoration Landi. A couple hours later folks knocking on the door looking for Him.
  10. Guns still on the roundabout, could do with a coat of paint. Not sure what they are, but quite big.
  11. If I understand 'boot' correct, no. But the old loom did not. Wires for 6-way switch, insulated spade connectors, same as old loom, so will connect straight to switch. All the large bulkhead grommets etc. are fitted in place. Only difference I have noticed so far is the panel warning light bulb holders are for a more 'modern' micro type bulb.
  12. Not sure, as polecat paul states, give Him a PM. Not sure if now doing visits at all the workshops around Britian or just Donnington.
  13. Welcome to the forum. How about a Airportable Landi? :-D
  14. Not a show or meeting but a workshop visit. My thanks go to Polecatpaul and the Powys and Mid Wales MVT area club for making a visit possible to this site. Never thought I would see the battle damaged and worn out Warrior being hoisted on the workshop floor, totally stripped of every part, cleaned, damage/repairs made, mods. done and rebuilt as new. A truly bril. 2/3hr. If any one gets a chance to visit one of the tours beg, steal or borrow a day off work. P.S. for obvious reasons, no photos. Andy.
  15. Regards the loom. Auto Sparks obviously wanted to know the year, this one 79'. Will be intresting to see if it can accomodate fog lights (not fitted) but my 80' one has. If loom has fog light wiring, I will fit as this vechicle may be my only 'car' in the future. On a different note, 54HG12, last night checking chassis before going for undersealing etc. next week found to be quite sad in a few places . Just hope I can keep it on the road for another year before new chassis required!! and this vehicle up and running.
  16. My Airportable restoration also had been def. sprayed white really well. The chassis, underbody etc. It was originally bought from a ex. MOD dealer as such with UN on the doors.
  17. Hi Herbert, welcome to the forum. Also intrested in British kit 60-80's. Andy
  18. This Landi's 12v. Off work t'day, so a little more being done :-). Just refit 'propper' hinges on lft. side, perfect gap allround the door, closes with a little gentle push
  19. Excelent photo. Good day for the outing.
  20. A bit more progress this weekend. L/H footwell and hinge panel cut out, quite difficult due to previous repair. Little more rot found but nothing serious. All maiting areas cleaned up and a dry run today with the new panels which fit a treat. Door now fits even better, may refit the wing to make sure alignment is spot on before extra bracing is added so I can again remove the panels, and treat any rust and paint. Then the next side. The new loom arived this week from Auto Sparks, cost £295.44, how nice and flexy it all is!
  21. Congratulations to you both. Have a great time up North...ish.
