  1. This is more from the pile of bits that came off ebay Without embarrassing myself to much I'm hazarding a guess that it might be barrel cover Next one it was a big pile described as a spacing strip made by Alvis FV2138307
  2. Each circuit has an RCD type fuse in it Lights, cooker, smoke alarms, plugs and I think the shower as well. Using a separate / stand alone RCD on the plug circuit trips the switch/fuse when its tested. My Mother had the old fuse wire type fuses replaced with the RCD type ten plus years ago. Well worth having it done in my opinion and this comes from someone who has had shock off someone else's shoddy work. My Dad used to regularly come across shoddy electrical work whilst he was a heating engineer and I know hes had a few shocks from unsecured wires!
  3. Newer fuse boxes have RCDs incorporated into the switch so if you test them as you should do it knocks the whole plug circuit off in the house.
  4. Buy a good quality jack better to use one thats rated for a higher weight than struggle with a barely suitable jack. Same goes for Axel stands buy good quality items, the cheap Chinese versions may look the same as those nice expensive ones in Machine Mart but they ain't. I made the mistake of buying a cheap set off ebay ended up welding them. Thought of another one Sandblasting cabinets I have one of those type that sits on top of the workbench its the most useless piece of rubbish that I have ever bought, I should have paid a bit more for the bigger type with a hopper beneath. Engine lifters Buy one with the legs that fold up vertically for ease of storage when not in use. I bought the 2 ton lifter at the very end of its extension it lifts 1/2 a ton, one of my best buys!

  9. It might have been painted on Minis mine hasn't got the crackle type on the rocker box covers but that could be because its a 1974 Mini, but its definitely on an MGB's dashboard. When I had my 1978 MGB GT it had the crackle paint finish on the dash. Worst decision of my life selling that car You can still buy black 'crackle' paint part No MRD1048A Crackle Black Aerosol http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/ Hope that helps
  10. If you're using windows open it up as a picture then edit it in paint and save it as a jpeg with a different file name.

  12. I have a couple of down filled sleeping bags (58 pattern) that need cleaning. Bought of ebay and Anchor Supplies, I meant to clean them in the summer but forgot. Whilst flicking through the forum on EMLRA I came across a link for cleaning sleeping bags and thought that I'd share the info. Its the wrong time to be cleaning them roll on summer http://www.alpkit.com/support/stickies/cleaning-down-sleeping-bags
  13. Keep the tank as full as possible stops corrosion in the tank. £££££ thats the only problem at the moment.

  15. I have one of those silver ones they don't bare any comparison to the originals I suspect that they might be of type that you used to be seen at gift shops in Blackpool.
  16. Imagine the fun that could be had here in the UK if we had to be all licensed. Straying off topic I know so I'll leave it at that.
  17. Anyone interested in SG covers for the Ferret / Saracen? I have had an email of someone who has suggested that he might be able to have the flat cap type remade (picture attached). At the moment its just an expression of interest and it all depends on how much a set of six would cost. He also has boots for the tractor joints as well I'm about to say yes please to a set of four of those. I'll ask him to join HMVF as well or I'll put a link on my site
  18. The "Autoglass" technician was determined to force in the rear window somehow or other.... And it won't affect you're no claims bonus
  19. Might as well ask another daft question in relation to 58 pattern kit what binoculars were in use to fit the 58 pattern binocular pouch on the webbing kit and who used that pouch on the webbing? Ruperts by any chance?
  20. Tar for all the the replies I couldn't see myself getting in and out of a Ferrets wearing full or even partial 58 pattern webbing I'm to big and the holes for getting in and out of the Ferret too small.
  21. Birds r expensive ask em to keep there high heels off the paint and you will be fine:angel:

  23. How does the 58 pattern machete fix onto the webbing? I have one of these canvas machete 'holders' and the only way that I can see to fix it is to slide the loop on the back through the belt. May have answered the question...
