  1. Any chance for a recommended supplier ???
  2. Sorry was in a hurry yesterday, but as I am in the American forum WWII and mention 1942 the vehicle matters little, unless you include USN, but yes its a 1942 hard cab GMC Always a pleasure when you join a forum and someone needs to slap you around. To those that could help I would appreciate it, but its no problem to take my trouble elseware.
  3. Any recommendations regarding paint suppliers or shades, so far I have some samples from Frank Burbery Paints and quite fancy the Olive Drab in satin as the old girl lives outside, this would reduce the effects of the weather and the birds. I seem to remember from the past that the early shade was lighter than the later post 42 ???
  4. Great photo's and enjoyed the text even more. I am currently restoring a hard cab ex Norway Jimmy up at Duxford for the group its currently coming to pieces nicely with the bed off and the wood removed, it was restored (well cleaned up and painted) a couple of years ago but it was out groups gate guardian and sitting outside with a only a coat of new paint did it little good. I keep forgetting to take the camera but next time I will make the effort and get some shots for the forum. I love the Dodge WC51.......................But the GMC even better. Thanks again for the photo's.
  5. Stanstead Abbotts, now thinking of selling my new Harley and buying a war time Harley or perhaps even another Weapons Carrier. My dream truck is a Chevy 1 1/2 ton or a White Scout Car.
  6. Hi Guys I am new here so be gentle with me, my name is Paul and I have always had an interest in Military vehicles, I have owned and M151 Mutt, after seeing one with the twin ariels tied down in the Green Berets I was pretty hooked on owning one, when my daughter was born I sold it and replaced it with a Dodge WC52 that I restored, I sold that before I moved to a posher estate with little parking. But I am back, being 57 I feel I am getting a bit old for a resoration so I joined Duxford as a volunteer which is great, I currently have my own project for a refresh a hard cab GMC which suits me I have always had a passion for them and its in nice big heated and lit workshop. Need to do my H license, but not that worried about being a tank driver the mechanics excite me more, just had the box out of a 432 and various other parts to keep another one going. Great place to work, and some great people to work with.
