  1. Brilliant!! I think we are all impressed that the weekend went so well in its entirety and the small bit that the Ferrets played can only show the hobby in a good light with the general public. Kudos to the owners who played a part as well! Pictures please a video would be nice as well

  11. My stupid question of the week. When did the nato numbering system come into use
  12. Do you have a picture of the element or housing? As its an early Meteor engine would an early Merlin filter element fit? If yes maybe the place to ask for a filter element is an aircraft forum?
  13. The first aeroplane to land at Ringway (Manchester Airport) returned yesterday 17th May 2012 to mark the 75th anniversary of the landing. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2145893/Biplane-land-Manchester-Airport-returns-mark-75th-birthday--complete-son-original-pilot.html
  14. Once the assembly is free it doesn't take much force. The handbrake has to be off for it work!!
  15. If I read it correctly you want to refit the wheel cylinders into the backplate? As long as the wheel cylinders are now free squash the fingers with water pump pliers or a G clamp and then refit to the backplate. You can test if the cylinders are working by having an assistant press the brake pedal which will then open the fingers. To close them the assistant removes his/her foot from brake pedal and you squash the fingers back together with the water pump pliers.
  16. All joking apart a restoration is not quick if you want the result to be something that you would be happy showing to everyone. Lets face it its a potential front cover for CMV and Bob would want his work to be seen in the best light
  17. That is a shame it just goes to prove that not all publicity is good!
