1. I have just seen this on the Manchester MVT Facebook website is this correct? I thought we (in the UK) had cornered the market for stupid legislation? I'm being flippant not political To all members who go to events in France.Be aware that its now law that all vehicles must carry a breathalyser. It is a 17 euro fine for a first category offence. 2. We could do with seeing the after the snow has gone pictures...:-)
3. We have in Manchester hope it disappears soon
4. Cue music for the Twilight Zone a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, and dimension of mind, you just crossed over into The Twilight Zone
5. Not to far away in March Malvern http://www.militaryconvention.co.uk/default.htm
6. So you couldn't stay away yes I wouldn't mind seeing the exhausts still living at R Close?
7. Stainless steel has come to the fore more as classic cars have become more available and we have more leisure time. Classic cars are used mainly in the summer. In regards to the MOD (War Department as was) mild steel might have been the easiest and the most convenient and the conventional way of supplying exhausts to vehicles circa 1950. I installed a stainless steel exhaust on my MGB GT when I had that, I bet the car is still fitted with it. £270 is a great price http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DAIMLER-FERRET-EXHAUST-SILENCER-NEW-/260937130966?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item3cc110a3d6#ht_500wt_1202
8. This one?
9. Stainless steel would have been better but its great in many respects that someone wants to have a go at making the exhaust and center bin. You have to commend them for that. It would be better if J.C. would join the forum and sell the things himself. The only thing that you have to worry about in regards to the exhaust is if the side wall of the muffler/exhaust box is thick enough to stop the exhaust resonating.
10. Yep its another mod it at least saves you from having to buy or have a bin fabricated.
11. Good day met quite few members from here and yes its mostly deac's, munitions, uniform and jeep spares. I suspect that the pitch might include the hire of tables. If you fancy selling at Stoneleigh / Malvern etc the best way to do it is to share the pitch with a friend, I have done it myself at Malvern. Its a great way off getting rid of some of the assorted Withams junk from the tender sales.
12. Damned good fun that and yes it is true the quiet ones are the worst :nut:
13. Ramblers wonderful people they wander hither and dither use the countryside and paths and put nothing back into the community.

15. It might be a Centaur class of carrier as the Aircraft are DH Venoms which would make it middle 50's onwards. The carrier in the film doesn't seem to have a very noticeable angled flight deck. Which would also say Centaur class, My three pennies worth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centaur_class_aircraft_carrier HMS Hermes is still in service with the Indian Navy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Hermes_(R12)
16. If you see two Stugs for that ballpark figure let me know and I'll sell the missus into slavery (I'm only kidding Janine).
17. Thanks Jim I have uploaded the Excel sheet to the website http://www.ferret-fv701.co.uk/vr/ferrets_at_bovington.xlsx
18. Hi Jim, I'll be at Stoneleigh are you dragging Peter out as well?
19. Jim (Fugly) had a look through Bovingtons Ferret album and didn't find a picture off 06cc27. That doesn't mean that a picture doesn't exist it just means that it isn't in the Ferret album. Could be in any of the armoured vehicle albums. Jim sent me the list of Ferrets that he had recorded the reg for happy to email if Jim doesn't mind or cant find himself. I had started to add the list to my register pages just didn't finish it.
20. Hi Robin, I wouldn't half inching a few pictures I've managed to delete my fluid flywheel pictures at some point in the last couple of months :banghead: Class is all I'm going to say.
21. SMLE is 1918 BSA The same person that I bought the rifles off was also offered a Bren (for nothing) but declined as it would upset his wife.
22. Decals are flimsy its just a case of being careful with them when you put them on and using compatible paints to achieve the best results. I wouldn't stamp the switchboard it won't look right. http://www.ferret-fv701.co.uk/switchboardtext.doc History wise you should be able to get that from the austin champ owners club (www.austinchamp.com)
23. I know the previous owner works at the same place as my better half Janine, he saw the RB44 and decided he would offer them to me All he wanted was enough money to buy a decent size shed. Plastic or wooden butt? I'll leave alone I'll only spoil it
24. I know someone who has a blacking tank to redo the finish (non technical talk here) on guns. He was tempted to redo the finish on one of his guns (firearms dealer) he did it but would never do it again as all the wear marks had been removed from the finish leaving the general knocks and bangs still present on the woodwork and steel. Not pretty plus it lowered the value of the gun. Finish wise it looks fine and for me has character and history that a factory finished example would not have.
