  1. Hi guys, Is this any one of you? Great website! http://stollyfiles.blogspot.com/
  2. I am being confused by data of this Saracen, 81BA57. There are two versions of it on the register, http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?16817-Saracen-Build-up/page27 and now have found 2 different versions of it on Youtube??? claiming it to be on Tank Park, Follingbostel and the other at Allenstein, Bergen Hohne The two on Youtube appear to be the same but a far cry from the two on the register, do we have an imposter?
  3. Chris, You have a valid point, will do. Never thought about it that way, same goes for reposting of pics as well I think, one should probably have a place where all pics are attached with links to the posts.
  4. Hi Chris, Not enough new info yet to try and upload again. I am constantly updating to the original Word doc though. Sorry if the reposting is boring, my poor attempt to elicit comments and info. Would probably be better to just add the link to the original posting (same effort though)
  5. I don't know how I missed this thread to date! Welcome here to the Saracen gang, we need more Saracen members on the forum! Here you will find Oily, Haybaggerman, andyroo, FoolsHumor, John Pearson, Paulob 1, Rick Cove, Fasttrax, Berna2vm, Saracenstump, Saracen driver, montie and a few others that I have seen on here a long time ago. Then, our guru with these vehicles with has a lot of info and experience is Richard Farrant. You only need to search for Saracen on this forum for a LOT of info. You will probably start off with lubrication requirements, mark my words! I have seen the article on this Saracen and when it was up for sale. I thought it was a good price. Weird pics on the article, funny what sometimes goes on. I have attached the register for your perusal, we need the registration of this vehicle as well and thinking off it, a pic and registration number for Saracendriver as well. Saracen Register.pdf
  6. Welcome to the forum, one only needs to read a few of these posts to become inspired to want to work on some old MV! May you purchase a ferret full of pleasure! (It's more like a marriage, really)
  7. I would use a begging smilie if one was available to start this post! Please, I need registration numbers and pics to update the Saracen register. It is not only for me but our joint use and enjoyment. I will also approach Bovington for numbers but it is rather difficult from this part of the world. As per the info that I got from the internet, there was around 1800 Saracens that rolled off the assembly line. This register has not even reached the 500 mark. All comments, advice, ect is required to make this into something worthwhile. Post on the thread, PM or e-mail me, all help will be highly appreciated. One mistake I picked up is that handler 69 is still looking into buying a Saracen and not an owner yet and already listed as such. Come on, Troy! Andyroo's Saracen was also added after some help from sirhc, thanks Chris. Saracen Register.pdf
  8. I have seen this a couple of times before and admired the work these guys did, never clicking that it was Andy's armour! Thanks for bring me up to speed on this one!
  9. . Hi sirhc, I remember you posted the pic of Andy's saladin with the bevelbox leak at the time (Saracen build-up), you can't perhaps assist with the above request, please?
  10. You are way ahead of me! I still have to go through all the schlep. Have good fun with yours. Do post some pics, please???
  11. Andy, do you have a picture of your Saracen, please post it.
  12. I agree with you on most points but that is what makes us different! If it wasn't for our attitude and dedication, there would only have been a couple of pics in a book here and there. All would have been gas-axed and molten into new coffee-tin crap that we buy nowadays!
  13. Hi TP, You came to the forum as if sent! Very welcome indeed! And remember, there is no such thing as too many photos! Please flaunt your skills!!
  14. Eish.... thanks Richard, it was worth an ask!
  15. Ahem, eh, eh,...you don't perhaps have a full (fuller) list of eh , a ..... saracen registration numbers, o maestro???
  16. Richard, I am still wondering how you got to connecting that Ferret serial number so quickly to the UK registration number????:???
  17. Hi guys, I had a visit from my Internet service provider and this is a trial run. Please be reminded that if you click on the hand when over the blue registration numbers, it should take you to the picture in question. It has gone a little haywire on the PDF version, on Word it works fine. I will also load the pictures numerically in future for this reason, the pics have now been added as I got them.
  18. Hi guys, I threw my toys out of my cot with my service provider and it wasn't pretty! Promises were made (again!), we will have to see. The newspaper clipping that I had been searching for..... A better photo of the 81mm mortar model. Your's truly on border patrol (Swaziland border) at the time, after the two years National Army Service Members of my section on patrol, note the R4 with folding butt. Time to bath when back in camp! Troops amusing themselves when resting between patrols. Pine planks and offcuts from a nearby sawmill were used for housing (kitchen and mess), furniture and fire!
  19. I found the the old newspaper clip of the models we ( me and a fellow soldier) made during our two years National Service in the South African Army.
  20. Sorry guys, FRED (Flippen Ridiculous Electonic Device!!!!!) :computerrage::computerrage:at it again!!!! This is the first version of the register, rev2 is 51 pages. When saving the register as a PDF, somehow the hyperlinks go haywire. But alas, my internet speed is down to 90kB/s, yes 90!!! No good for anything, not even thinking about uploading! I'm not even sure this reply is going to stick!!
  21. Hi guys, Let me again try uploading the incomplete register, it has been a very frustrating few days. Wanted to add smilies but none on edit option Deleted the register, updated on http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?16817-Saracen-Build-up&p=220963#post220963
  22. Oily, you really are a Saracen nut!:cool2:
  23. Me too, me too!! Many thanks for posting, it is going to take a while to go through all of these!:
  24. Hi guys, I thought I will rather try to upload the incomplete register on this thread and once it reassembles a more complete register, onto the Saracen gallery thread. No go, failed again after 6 attempts.
