  1. they changed the server so it's now www.mapleleafup.net/forums/
  2. thanks for the intro into the fascinating world of trailers seriously though, you look to be doing a very thorough job of it. all the best eddy
  3. those are more like the actions of an unscrupulous property developer not a locally elected official. how do people like that get elected and where did they get him from, with behaviour like that you'd think he was a member of the european parliament !!! maybe he has ambitions in that direction.
  4. well done, good to see such a great effort being put into preserving the old girl.
  5. hello mate, good to have a russian guy on the forum maybe you can give us information on russian vehicles and their use and the location of any old t34 and su100 in your local scrapyard :cool2: welcome eddy
  6. it could be a reme recovery training aid on slab common, definately not a sherman but nice pic all the same. eddy
  7. now that would be a great find, i look forward to the pics
  8. alastair don't be a tight git, go and buy one and when you've finished with it could i borrow it please. eddy
  9. hi tim thanks for posting the pics, that turret looks great to me, i've sent you a pm with my email address. it's in better shape than mine that's for sure. cheers eddy
  10. steve you're gonna have to pull some strings and get me on otterburn with a gas axe one day, i reckon i could get most of the parts i need in one go. now that would be nice ! eddy ps alastair i've managed to get hold of the workshop manual and operating instructions so i won't have to guess how it all fits together. thankfully
  11. personally i'm not worried about the cut through on the final drive armour plate as it looks to be a relatively simple repair i'm just glad that dave arnold ran out of acetylene when he was cutting it off all those years ago, as i have no doubt it would have been scrapped if the final drives were missing. as for it's location, well i'm afraid it's still sitting in ian's yard down shrewsbury for the time being as the land i've bought or the workshop i'm building for it aren't ready yet. one day it'll get moved. i'd like to say in the next month but i've been saying that for the last 5 months ! eddy
  12. don't worry alastair i never let reality get in the way of a good idea
  13. well spotted mate i hadn't seen that
  14. thought i'd post up a couple of pics of the churchill before i aquired it, there's more on the photobucket link mentioned earlier. eddy
  15. my biggest fear is getting my tank and carrier spares robbed from outside the house, (carrier tracks are like rocking horse sh#t) but as the recession deepens it can only get worse, so buckle up fella's it's gonna be a bumpy ride !!! eddy
  16. well spotted sean. don't fancy trying to recover them though steve when you've found the tank in question pm me and we'll go up and grab it before the rest of the guys cotton on eddy
  17. interesting pics, i wonder how much stuff is still concealed by the vegitation. eddy
  18. just read the article and i have to say you've done a great job. it's always nice to see a bit more armour on the scene eddy
  19. the standard horn was even fitted to lancaster interiors, the guy that invented them must be loaded. the interior light as mentioned earlier hasn't changed from ww2 and how about the 2 pin inspection light socket, that has also remained the same. i think the real challenge is to find something pre ww2. the trouble is not many of us have the kit to go and look at eddy
  20. spam fritters and warm corn dog eaten straight from the can, now that's a man's meal
  21. you're doing a belting job on the old cent mate, keep up the good work eddy
  22. what's with all this fancy food, i thought we were trying to recreate the feel of the army in 44. how about corn beef for breakfast, corn beef for lunch and chicken surprise for evening meal (the surprise is it's corn beef) eddy
  23. yes i think only alastair would have taken these on as a project and i'm sure that when he's done it will be a very professional job, which just goes to show that nothing is beyond restoration it only needs the right lunatic to come along. eddy
