  1. i would be interested in going next year worth checking dates not to clash with combined ops etc!
  2. does look like a ferret one but when fitted does cut into room for legs of observer
  3. dont think moving wheels would achieve much ! after all its the hubs that need turning in relation to each other
  4. know what u mean i have a gravel parking area so put axle stands on boards ,plus std stands are not really high enough
  5. far as i know situation is same ,ferrets a motor tractor claim exemption as such ,what was their reason for refusal? topdog on your v5 does it say tax class historic vehicle? i know some one was having probs with their ferret as when originally registered it was done as a PLG ,,,, other thing might be is ,its the default setting that you need a mot cert then its up to you to legally claim exemption
  6. 2 ton axle stands at each corner should be fine thats double the weight of a ferret
  7. best to jack one corner up axle stand it and repeat process ,i have only tried it with ferret in gear look at tires fore and aft what u want is matched pairs tread wise on each side, will minimize wind up, and when driving find soft ground ,gravel etc this will allow wheels to to release any trans wind up( tires should be within 2 inches of each other try measuring with string around wheel)
  8. or u could jack vehicle up disconnect props turn wheels to line up reconnect props make sure rolling diameter of tires is within 2 inches and take it from there!:-D
  9. looks great all u need now is a splinter screen holder!
  10. i thought the silver paint was fire proof as well
  11. just had a look at what u posted still no reference to age related cracks that dont expose cord
  12. my local independent tire fitters have done 2 ferret tires for me ,they dont enjoy it though!!!
  13. contentious threads are some of the best!!:-D
  14. exactly correct tony, andy the reason it was a advisory is no mention of tire perishing in mot testers handbook as a fail item, long as no cord showing .this thread started about cracked sidewalls ,not : should old tires be replaced thats a whole different kettle of fish:!
  15. like i said make an informed decision based on facts, rather than its cracked its fecked!:-D
  16. is it illegal to have tires fitted with age related sidewall cracks where no cord is visible ? (dont think so)
  17. can some one post road traffic law etc where it talks about side-wall cracking plse just had look at mot testers handbook no mention of sidewall cracks ,so for instance ferret side wall having seen one of wheel whilst puncture repaired i would guess sidewalls are 2 inches thick so u could have a age related sidewall crack 50 thou deep that would only be 2.5 percent of side wall thickness ,( a no no would be a crack thru which you could see cord.
