  1. I've more than 200 of these slides and the Magic Lantern projector ,, think this pic is what they call the German market ? under German control in the 1500's ?? Bergen The Tydskebryggen , What year might this be ?
  2. Got these old woodbury slides some will be of great interest , a lot are dated late 1880's some are quite a bit later , quite a few north of England/Scotland , Norway Vossevangen Eide Rd , all are on Disc but two , will have to dig the others out ,, I've replaced the pic as it was not to good
  3. Green Howards Museam Trinity Church Square Richmond N/Yorks 01748 826561 , this is only a small museam but would think it holds a lot of info
  4. think it would have to be the recoil type or one with a good bolt action :-D or take them by surprise from the rear :-D
  5. the unimog I'm trying to make room for it , I plan on saving it its not to bad but kids have got to the windows , it was lucky because of being semi coverd , there is also a rolling chassis , its open top cab was left outside and was scraped a while back  think that was a 2.2 . the one above is the larger engine 2.6 or 2.8 here's a pic of chassis
  6. some great pics there , been very lucky that someone saved these ,
  7. , great thread at the start ,mark do you have any more pics ,,,what is that sculpture ,, and why is it like it is ?
  8. some great vehicles there on that list I think the one at the top of my list would have to be the BAT M just great
  9. thougt I'd add a couple pics of the remains of a 404 unimog ,
  10. last summer there was one of these dakotas taking people on prebooked flights at Tees valey international airport , ( used to be teeside airport ) this year there was another which i think was one of these with some fancy takle on maybe raidar ? it was flying about for days leading up to some big government meeting ,G8??, then all of a sudan stoped just as this meeting did ,, someone had wrote in to The Northern Echo asking what this plane was doing making such a row ( was a heavy drone ) they said they'd looked into it and the reply they got was it was working for google earth , ... ?? why then did it take the same path for a week ??
  11. think I've seen a machine like this before somewhere , i see that he's pushing the third button , in front of him sits a crowd of cackling lady's all with a book 'n' bold red pen , as he pushes that button he shouts out Three :-D then one of the lady's shouts Bingo do'nt mind me the wines starting to work , will have to have a :coffee:
  12. today I opened boxes that contained panels that I'd painted a while ago , the tractor was still getting used as it was until the clutch jamed , I also had a replacement fuel tank because the one that was on had a small hole and the wrong outlet pipe ,, gave it a real good cleaning off first ,, rear mudguards are just on loose because i need adjust the brakes
  13. these all look like Triumph 3rd & 5th pic 3.5hp nic named trusty triumph , can see there's a direct drive to the rear wheel , there is then a three speed sturmey archer built into the rear hub ,, the others have the gearbox behind the engine and can make out by the shape of fuel tank that thes are triumph but not sure what they call these I know an old garage stuck in a time warp , with some bikes like these , one has a wiker basket style side car ,, I've been after a bike like these , to fit a J.A.P 600cc side valve with mag in front of the wheel like the above bikes
  14. I'm trying to get this fordson back together , need to sell it pluss a crawler tractor BTD6 to make room for next MV project ,fordson clutch jamed up last time i was using it , so had to split it to sort out what was wrong ,, turned out to be a 3mm thick pin had droped out one of the clutch release fingers  , this fordson has an extra low range gearbox giving 12 forward speeds anyone know of a good forum for agricultural vehicles you can see the pin in this pic on the engine above a mounting point this is what it looks like today , not sure wether to paint the full lot as need to move quick to get the MV that i've seen
  15. Saw this 6X6 recker yesterday morning heading towards Catterick Garison see these quite often , the ones to look out for is the big oshcosh ( spelt wrong ) , Did the millitary use the smaller cabed fodens , think they nicknamed them mickey mouse cabs ,, During the 80's northridding garages ( part of tilcon quarry group? ) used to have a contract refurbing the fodens and remember the bronze diff wheels that they used to change ,, the diff oil used to come out like mustard ,, also remember a foden recker that was waiting for a cab because soldiers had thrown camo netting over it , it caught fire :nono: i was driving so these pics not so great , the one getting a lift was a leyland ,,
  16. seen the kubelwagens replicas and look great , a pal is rebuilding a treka at the moment yes there's quite a few with scooby engines in , but it puts a lot of strain on the runing gear , VW= 34HP scooby=320HP a freind spent 2.5K on a stronger gearbox ,,, I much prefer a diesel and sick of the vw lump chucking rods , started fitting peugeot engines,
  17. Hi I'm whatching some driveshaft cv joint gaiters on ebay for a munga anyone on here bidding for them ? looking at mine it looks as though one wants changing because its got the wrong type fitted ,, it rubs on the chassis ,, how much would one cost ? seems as though there's a few mungas with different engines fitted , before I bought my munga i did search & find a diahatsu 3 cyl turbo diesel engine , just in case it the munga did'nt run , What RPM will the munga engine be doing at 60mph ?
  18. Mark , keep an eye on the angle of the balljoints , I've seen them snap on jacked up offroad buggy's I used to have a nice colection of vw"s mainly campers , but i lost the use of a large barn two years ago , so have had to sell quite a few of them ,some had been tucked away in the barn for 10 years , ,,
  19. brother got TxT today saying about Andrew Jackson being jailed for selling former military personnel carriers to Sudan http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/south_yorkshire/8343267.stm
  20. friend told me about a lightweight landy , but there was nothing that he could do to save it , he also told me that a lot of the cars that are coming in for the scrapage scheme are in great condition a lot with FSH ,,,, Also been told of a lotus just today , somehow its been tucked out the way in a corner under cover , so looks as though it might be saved
  21. this is just brilliant you do know that you have to make two of everything so you get it right , I can then buy the other bits off you to build one myself :-D , , is it going to float ? , there was a type 166 schwimer at Sata pod VW show two years ago now ,,, I have'nt read the full thread yet but I see that you've used a wide five balljoint front beam so that must mean the running gear dates from about 65/66 unless of cause the hubs have been swaped , i can also see that the beams fitted with ajusters for ride hieght , were these fitted to lower the car , I was looking a while back at a GRP replica that some company were selling , think they also made Kubelwagens as well ,
  22. hi I've looked at the fuel tank filler and can'nt see a bit of steel wire on the inside of the filler cap for mixing the fuel/oil , will get a better look inside with a light , the fuel cap on the underside has what looks like a measuring cup for the oil , would I be right in thinking this ? dont live far from millitary offroad testing grounds above Catterick Garrison , have seen quite a few Dutch ( i think ) over last two weeks , in what look to be Mercedes G Wagens or puch G's so might be able to go up and mingle :-D ,,, How would i go about trailor lighting plug , is it common to 24v trucks ?? Think brother is getting me some paint he used to work at REME , now works independent repairing & painting landrovers ,+ pinzagaur's also hulands ,
  23. cheers for all the advice Andrew I'll have a look in the tank ,, I'm not sure if this one has been made to a German army one ,, person i got this from her late husband used to do rock drilling and blasting and at one point it has been painted of all colours yellow :nono: ,, then later black not sure when it was painted but it was black when i first saw it in the barn more than 15years ago ,, , lots of revs it'll be great if it sounds like the old Terex supercharged two stroke diesel loadind shouvels these mungas must be light enough and strong enough to cope with having no middle diff , old landys used to snap half shafts if on tarmac in four wheel drive ,, I'll be looking through some parts that came with it not sure one came with it but have not seen the centre cover for the steering wheel ,,,,thanks again
  24. cheers for the advice Andrew , there does'nt appear to be an oil pump and tank on this one ,might be wrong but dont think there's any pulleys spare to drive one ? ,,,,,,,, fuel tank cap say's 40:1 ,, dont intend to take engine to bits as runs realy sweat just going to clean it up , there does seam to be a bit of oil on the bottom of the gearbox but none on the floor ,, will check it over for play in the input and output shafts ,, ,, not drove it yet as clutch was stuck ,,
  25. this spitfire is full size also made of GRP and sits on a suport that can'nt be seen because of the sunrise its sat in the middle of a roundabout in Norton near Middlesborough ,, friend that took the pic owns the splity
