  1. Convoy today heading onto the A1(M) southbound from Catterick Garison , must be quite a bit of weight because the's 28 wheels on them trailers ,I did find something odd , normaly there's a spare rig if there's a breakdown but not this time , maybe they were'nt going far

  3. Now will where did you find that ,, Think that the Russians used something like that ,, seen one that was built from an old splitscreen type2 but not a bay
  4. , , yes think a few of us seem to have phobias with them auto trans , I've an S class W140 and the box is playing up as it changes into third , but I've a spare box were first has gone and was thinking of swaping first out of one and putting into the other its just knowing which gear is , which supose if i strip one right down if may become apparent ,, not to sure but think they said that the auto upgraded brake bands parts were from a sprinter type trans
  5. No I think they should send them deep into the jungle like tony B says , put'em into an old concentration camp in the swet box ,but let them see a tv showinig footage of what it was like in these prison camps , then show footage of the field hospital and the amputations that went on , then show the the vast graveyards to the fallen :argh: then maybe they might understand why there's a popy colection to the ones that survived
  6. hi all , fesm_ndt , Millitary have to deal direct with Puch for parts , even thought brothers boss can get a list of parts 1000s of pounds cheaper ,,parts fitted were new differentials , The've just got another one in for repaint and new transfer box to be fitted , He's had two in with low miles that needed auto gearboxes ,, on getting them repaired it was found that the trans are just the same as a saloon car gearbox , so they added stronger internals ,, pic of the one needing the transfer below ,, its got the 5 cylinder 2.4 vw engine , again this is a 1993 ,, learnt something today the reg is classed as the K series and like GB reg would be in 1993/4 = L reg , millitary = KL , , . In the background of the pic is a haglund in for breaking think its got the mercedes 6 cylinder OM602/?? turbo diesel
  7. here's a 1993 that's still service it'd sat at base for 18 months waiting for parts :-| ,, it's just been in for repaint , supposedly its only got a 1.9turbo diesel , great machine all the same

  10. great looking project , there used to be an old Case going round the shows in the same condition , the owner just gave it a rub over and washed it with a mix of diesel and oil ,, he had got lots of trophies , much to the disapointment to the folk that had spent thousands on there restored tractors
  11. Dear Santa , I think I've been good even though I've not replaced the front fence or laid some paving flags in the back garden or tiled the fire hearth but there only jobs the wifes asked for ,, I'll not be greedy and only ask for £10 worth of the jackpot winning loto tickets :-D

  17. thats great Eugene , just done a search on WIKI and thats the one , they seem to have a large rear hub to hold the half shafts ,, bit of a big pickup ,,, what would the value be for them ,, his is in great condition but the cabs stood at the side , not sure if the engine is about , but going by the axel ratio puting the bedford engine in " will make it no faster than a tractor " :nono: , I'll try find some more about it , think its been in this shed over 30 years  ,, Regards Phil ,,,
  18. G.P.A. do'nt see many of them , great looking restoration , as for going in the water with the swimer i think you might find once its done that it too will be of great value  , I used to have an argo cat for going into water , was ok but now have a 1972 Raidtrac 418 was said to be prototype ex millitary swamp master , very rare
  19. Hi all ,,,,,, Willyslancs its great when the paint starts to go on , I've just fixed up a smaller welder . found on my muga under the seat boxes there's a top hat section of steel that needs to be replaced along with a section of floor ,,,,,,,,,a few used parts came with my munga ,,,,,,,drive shaft ,, hub ,, brake cylinders not sure if they'd work again i was going to strip them down and hone them , I just need to find out what parts I might need for mine , need to get it jacked up to see if there's any play in the king 'n' link pins , , then need to remove each hub and check if all the brakes are working Windscreen has a crack through it ,so i was thinking of getting a friend that replaces windscreens to cut a new laminated one ,, I've a lady freind that repairs horse blankets , going to ask her to repair the top rear part of the hood ,, I have noticed on one of the doors that there's a number printed on the canvas ,, ,,, might this number be of use to find info amout the munga ?

  23. the quality is realy good on some of them , nice and crisp this next one is from WW1 ,, I've had to read this from the glass slide the righting is only 2mm high so dificult and quite a strain on the eyes  notice to the population in order sufficently to ensure the safety of our troops and the traquility of the population of Rheims the persons mentioned have been seized as hostages by the German Army , These hostages will be shot if there is the least disorder . On the other hand if the town remains perfectly calm and quiet these hostages and inhabitants will be placed under the protection of the German Army The General Commanding Rheims 12th September 1914 there is more righting below but is smaller ,( will have to rig the magic lantern up to read more ) , but think its a reply to the above , this is how it starts below To Ensure The Tranquillity of the Population of Rheims what is the meaning of "The Least Disorder "?
