  1. Seen them filled with straw, a bit light though...
  2. If I remember correctly the Half Tracks were designed to get more or less the off road mobility of a tank with the drivecomponents of a 4x4 truck. The Germans overcomplicated by using tanksteering on tracks without frontwheeldrive. After the war tracksteering got better so a Halftrack wasn't nessesary any more. So basically a "experiment" between a wheeled and fulltrack vehicle. I suppose it just didn't work as good as expected. Correct me if I am wrong guys
  3. Maybe they hoped to get a crop of new Jeeps growing?
  4. Hi Ivy house That sucks! I know how you feel, been there myself. I bought a M38 Jeep in 1995, no MoT but the brakes and steeringproblems wouldn't be a problem - yeah right. That cost me a shitload of money (all my savings were spend in buying it). Then more bad luck, the engine was cracked.....a replacement one cost 450 Euro ( then 1000 guilders). The spare parts dealer Wildenberg gave me a discount, we are friends since then. The best advise I can give new MV owners is to at least get a MoT one and take a guy along who knows the kind of vehicle. Offcourse to late now for you (and me back then). Wish you goodluck and lots of fun with your Jeep.

    That's looking good!!
  8. I will be going to beltring again. My brother and me love to come and visit England each year, money prevents more visits. Didn't know the US used British trucks, does make sense though.
  9. Well done! Keep up the good work. I've got a original 1917/1918 US uniform and equipment (British is too rare and expensive), I would look great in the truck when finished.
  10. Great initiative. I live in Holland so I can't be there. Hope you'll get some people and vehicles.
  11. Hi Jack Thanks for posting the pics. Been there June 11th 2000. I met a US veteran in a museum who looked at a Dodge WC 51/or 52 with tears in his eyes. I told him I drove one, in Holland, he was impressed and got his family and took my photo. He told me when they were in a Dodge and a air attack took place they all dove in a ditch for cover except the driver who went onder the Dodge and drank wine.
  12. If I remember taking of manifold or other bits is required. Good luck!
  13. So I guess your Fox is shining now.
  14. Hi Madman I was there too! I had a American in my truck who's father died at the crossroads as a Paratrooper. Especially enjoyed the visitorsday (nice weather) with the fieldguns blazing away.
  15. I'll be going to Beltring also. If you see me driving my minibike grinning all the way, give me a shout. Don't mind the incorrect uniform...
  16. A vehicle is like having sex....no lubrication means a lot of sorrow
  17. Suze doesn't matter? Yeah right..... Nice trucks!
  18. Nice photo's. Wouldn't want to be the guy with the 30 cal...
  19. Here is the one at Beltring.
  20. Is that the one at beltring last year?
