  1. What is your ' home country' if its Greenland you may have difficulty......
  2. Found this thing on the net. Tracks seem modern and gun too big for the turret. Any ideas ?
  3. It was over a year ago that I drove it on the road but I remember that it was generally unpleasant. I suppose if I had to drive it every day for work I would get used to it. However is it not supposed to be fun..............?

  6. Looking in Chieftain by Rob Griffin 2001 I find my notes; 01 EB 50 VERSUVIOUS driver Steve Read, it was OC's tank C,Sqn 1RTR. Also that it was smelted. Another for the list.
  7. This thing is blinking awful. I saw it at the Yorkshire Show a couple of years ago. I mentioned that it was the wrong shape and shouldn't be seen in public but the characters with it did not want to talk to me. The shame of it.......
  8. No one else owned it before me, except the Tax Payer.....

  10. It has just dawned on me that I once owned a Cent AVR named BREATHLESS, now possibly in Scotland.
  11. I am sure it was a slip...... It is a Matilda 1 not a Matilda 11
  12. Any one want this ? probably from a 432. Its free if you collect
  13. Another for you that is not on the list. At The Tank Museum there is a derelict A11 Matilda 1, it is the one with A/T hits on it, now highlighted in red pint. This is named HIGHBURY, a tank of 8RTR. How do I know? well in the late 1980's we removed a front track adjusting wheel. Being curious I flatted the paintwork where the name was likely to be. It appeared and I noticed it had been painted on twice. So, 100% certain that it as HIGHBURY. Stick it on the list!
  14. I am sure this was a wartime tank. It is a Mk4 probably a gun tank converted to a AVRE, I doubt if any AVRE like this was produced after 1945.
  15. Thanks BlueBelle that photo that the link shows is one of them. There must have been more as the one, in my photo has the VRN 99 BA 17. Richard's suggestion has merit but BlueBelle's one seems to show a gun in the rear turret
  16. Kevin I have now checked my 1988 Diary. It was recovered by a TA unit on 7 May 1988 from Otterburn. I got it in my yard on 14 May where it remained for 10 years 11 months for restoration. After some years as a 'runner' at The Tank Museum it suffered a catastrophic engine failure and is now sadly not a 'runner'...... There were no plates or any ID on the very rusty tank, the name FIREFLY was on the armour of the air intake plate which was hanging down on one bolt. Cheers Bob
  17. This particular Saracen has two turrets. Does anyone know anything about it ?
  18. Dinky Toys had one of these 7.2 Howitzers in the 1950/60's
  19. Kevin The Churchill AVRE, now at the Tank Museum, had FIREFLY on the air intake boxes when it was recovered. It is not on the list of WW2 or Post War listings. Please inform Dick.
  20. It is near a casino and a church from what I remember
  21. A photograph I took of the factory at Huddersfield about 3 years ago, note the date in the stonework.
  22. Having another clear out. The four items on the left are a bit suspect, bits missing etc The others are fine, I have another pic if required. There is no price, just offer me what you think. BTW the bag is for a Chieftain spot light.
