Another unidentified item from the shed, CVRT clamp 9CVT/4940-99-114-6644 Would anyone know what they would've been used for. It is well wrapped up in sticky, greasy paper. Simon

I've had 6 of these in my shed for a while gathering dust etc, two white metal rings and a rubber gaiter, I'm guessing some sort of driveshaft seal, but could be wrong. The seal has FV482077 on it, the two rings, large FV482080, and small FV482089. Can anyone tell me what they would fit please. Simon

Without knowing the exact size of the thing, could it be an early medical device for widening arteries or other internal passages? Simon

That'll be no problem, plenty of primer, and a good few coats of topcoat, will last quite a while.

After etch priming, I recommend a good coat of a zinc rich primer too, to keep the nasty rust at bay for a bit longer. Keep at it, and put up lots of pics too. Simon

I'm guessing this picture was taken at Ruddington. Can recognise, Militants, Hippo, army and RAF, Martian. Not sure what 1371 is, Thorneycroft Big Ben maybe. For some reason they all have blacked out bridging plates. Simon

A couple more Martian pics that I've found. Date/locations unknown. First one seems to be driver/vehicle trials, and second somewhere on the continent, going by cars. Simon

No markings whatsoever, did peruse the G503 forum which goes into a lot of detail about these so called mystery cans, most likely early American. I'm going to keep it, have got most of the tar off, by blowtorch and finishing of with Nitromors, a wash off with diesel and then petrol, didn't look too bad. Now sent off to sandblasters to clean rust off. Also sent a 1943 Ameri can, with solid sides but the bottom was rusted out, will weld a new bottom piece in, shouldn't look too bad, managed to save the bottom piece with the ICC markings on, so i'll make that part of the new infill piece. The Ameri can. The original bottom, rusted out. A view inside after I cut out the rusty bottom. Still signs of the original red oxide, or would it have been red lead? Simon

Now got the switchboard front part sprayed black. I have also got some new lettering to go onto it, it should be white but I am wondering whether or not to try and put some luminous lettering on. White lettering printed off. And luminous. The air pressure gauge had no illumination other than luminous numerals, so it may not look too out of place. I've got two front panels so may try both just to see. Simon
