  1. Hi Tim Great to see "gaucho" in good hands, I didn't know she had left the range. On the other hand I haven't been there for more than two years. When I did rediscover her about 10 years ago she looked much better, a few years back there has been a parts search on the range and someone removed the left side bogie in the middle, leaving some big holes in the hull. That Firefly troop is comming close, would be an awesome sight. Good luck with her. Michel
  2. Hi The one I served on had a winch pulling 7.5 T, with a 3 on 1 that would be (theoraticly) 22.5T more than I ever needed. Michel
  3. A bit to the North off Athens (60km or so). If you want the coordinates: N 38° 16.682' E023° 40.003' As far as I know its on a active Army base, so I don't know access will be easy;) Michel
  4. Hi Marty Nice to see some pictures from places where most of us never come. May I use your pictures at the afvregister (www.afvregister.org), credits to you will be added with the source of the pictures Michel www.afvregister.org
  5. There are only 6 known surviving Jumbo's around (there are reports about another one but that hasn't been seen for many years), all exempt one in the US. The Jumbo from the Brussels museum is now located at the Heinz barracks in Bastogne. Almost all the armor has been removed from the museum in Brussels and that part will stay closed until 2013. At the location where the Jumbo once stood, there is now a strange combination of a M4A4 Firefly hull with a 75mm turret . Michel
  6. As far as I know yes it will take place. see: http://www.tanksintown.be/ Michel
  7. Sharky The serial should be 57556, RN 30104238, so I was told by Guy Gilles last year. Its great to know she did find a good home en will be restored. Keep up the good work. Michel
  8. Michel I believe the M6 was based on the HVSS suspension. In my opinion those are two M6 High speeds there (Sam Winers maybe) Michel (not the same;))
  9. Maurice There should be a Ic at the Vissenaken Depot. Michel
  10. Steve Grizzly N°69 2.jpg is in fact a strange twist of the programming. The picture is named Grizzly N° 69.jpg but the database or the program behind the forum can't work woth the °, so jou get a ° in place. It is? any more details on this one, seems to be missing in my records. BTW. all those wrecks on the ranges here in Belgium belong to the Brussels museum and they may not sell a single artefact from the collection. However they can trade a piece of armour for an other piece, if it has a historic value for Belgium or if it fits somehow in the collection. Small hint, they are still looking for a M36 Jackson. Michel
  11. Hi Steve I've just contacted the owner of that Grizzly, and... lets blame it on the paint hmm. He also confirmed she came from Geneva, so that should be enough to say its N°69. Some more recent pictures of it: Michel
  12. Hi guys Initially I had collected the info for the G104 group, so it was exclusive about Shermans. Later on the step to all the armour wasn't that big, so the result is that Pdf file. Its my intention to update it twice a year, a lot of stuff moves around and there are always new dicoveries. That Grizzly is Shop N° 9 according the owner, I believe he did even send me a picture of the Shop N°. Michel
  13. Life ain't bad down here. Enough Sherman hulls?? whats enough:cool2: Probably someone was thinking, that type of Sherman is missing in the collection. M4A3's are quit rare here in Belgium. BTW a picture of it : http://www.afvregister.org/Details.aspx?AfvId=10449&Page=0 Tichenor
  14. I can verify that, seen it and even have some pictures of it (somewhere). It's currently at the Visenaken depot. Tichenor
  15. So who was the guy that donated his chips to one off our crew when we left the marketsquare in Mons?? Michel
  16. I have to check out these treads more often , missed it until it was to late. We were also at the event with our Priest, had a not so great arrival on friday (ignition problems) a better saturday (problemes solved) and a great sunday. For the Priest it was the first decent ride it had in a long, long time ( about forty years or so), until now the longest ride was about 2Km. We didn't have a single problem during the ride, even had time to pull a M4 (105) up a hill after it broke down. We are already thinking about next year. Michel
  17. Hi I’ve put another small movie online See: Michel

  19. As already said M7B2. Any clues where the pictuers are taken? I believe it's an ex-German Priest thats been demilitarized. It has what I think is a German licenceplate and the mounting off the headlights on the differential housing. The holes in the hull could be from the German DeMil demands. Some of those ex-range wrecks did come available recent. Michel
  20. Indeed that's a problem we're facing at the moment, budget cuts you know:argh:. Michel www.afvregister.org www.afvregister.org/M7B2/index.htm
  21. M4A4 Hermeton sur Meuse The same story as that one in Mopertingen and Clermont, its a Firefly hull with an other turret placed on. A long time ago, at this place stood the M4A3E2 Jumbo now in Brussels. She has the Registration and name of Cobra King, but that Jumbo is for the moment in Vilseck, Germany. 24. M4A1(76)W of the Brussels Tank Museum, with the 3 piece front Adrian mentioned earlier. Currently the engine needs some work. Michel www.afvregister.org www.afvregister.org/M7B2/index.htm
  25. This tread was almost at the bottom of the page, so action was needed. All picture of the M4A1E8 of the Brussels Tank Museum Michel www.afvregister.org www.afvregister.org/M7B2/index.htm
