  1. Now before anyone says anything, I am just as human as anyone else and have my fair share of screw ups. Wonder what the intercom back and forth was like on this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLQ4S6zrL4Q&feature=related If either the driver or commander are on here, my commiserations gents R
  2. Welcome along. please show us pictures of vehicles! R
  3. I agree with Richard. Will check mine today and take a picture and measure it as mine is out of my tank at the moment. R
  4. Wow, that sure is a nice favour that was done for you, the nice dry shop space and those super sexy wheel lifts are the cats meow if you ask me. it really makes servicing easy I am sure. Robin
  5. Dear Andy, Thank you for posting those those pictures, they are of great help. It answers a lot of questions I had. The biggest question I had was were the attachment points sprung in any way. They are obviously not. Thanks R
  6. Dear Fluff, so you are saying that the engine has been changed to BULLDOG standard are you? What else has been changed then? R
  7. Chris, Spartan, some assembly required, batteries not included? R
  8. please pardon the joke, but if you "schip" things don't they arrive at Schiphol? Well done mate, look forward to the restoration. And by the way my dutch is lousy, just couldn't resist that one, no mal intent:dancinggirls: Robin
  9. Nobody noticed the Carlos Fandango go faster exhaust modification on the 432? R
  10. Well, so far everyone is absolutely correct on all the details picked out so far. The big bins are Stormer, we have a Stormer so that is how I know, it is a diesel, if the engine is in it is another thing! yes as stated they were MCT versions originally. As to what you are "seeing" at Withams versus what are they receiving is another matter. I think that there is every chance that diesel CVRTs have gone through there but have been scrapped without being offered for sale as they are so shagged as to make them worth more for scrap than all the aggro of a sale. More to follow later R
  11. Bumped into these two yesterday, more armour moving east from BATUS to the UK. See if you can identify some of the BATUS modifications. Chris you are banned from responding at the moment, let some other kids in the yard play! R
  12. Welcome Steve, there are some here who have that kind of kit. Tony Knott has a tracked Rapier and I think Rob Nixon has the towed version. R

  17. From memory, which as one advances plays tricks, that some unit armouries had a numbered brass disk attached to each firearm somehow. Seem to remember the jangling that went one until one signed for the said bang stick and then it was removed until return. Alien do you remember anything like that? R
  18. Welcome fellow Ferret owner, glad to see you here. Regards Robin (above you in Canada)
  19. I am unfamiliar with your vehicle but have some suggestions. It appears you are struggling between orginality and practicality. If the vehicle has a trailer light socket then make up a light board that plugs into the trailer socket and use the biggest brightest lights you can find for safeties sake. If there is no socket then make a breakout in the loom near the rear and tuck a socket out of sight for use with a light board. This is what some jeep owners are doing over here to satisfy the two needs R
  20. As many of you current and former Ferret lunatics are aware the silver "flame retardent" (or something like that) paint is a so and so to find and apply in North America. Infact this problem has been a stumbling block for my advancement of my Mk1 vehicle project. I have tried a few different silver paints but all with the same dismal results, which are consistently the same. They silver rubs off on your hands and the paint itself is not "self healing" during the application stage and it show each pass of the spray can or brush and leaves a blotchy job. This past weekend Al Duffy passed on to me a tip from Brad Mills about a paint available locally called "Armour Coat". ( the humour in the name is not lost on me! I sprayed my fuel tank and it went very well and is a bit bright but i'm sure with time will dull down a bit. As the paint went on in each coat it was different from the dry paint but within seconds dried to the same colour wihout showing blotches etc. After fully drying is is hard and does not come off to the touch. Thanks gents R
  21. Hey ho all moderators, we have a lubrication and batteries section of the forum, could we have one for paint please? R
