  1. Love the thread, please keep posting. Turntable trailers are so sensible looking, do they tow well in addition? Robin
  2. That looks very tidy and clean. I hope someone is happy when they get it. God only knows the lad has been very patient for a number of years. Glad it is going to a good home Tony Robin
  3. Dear Max, The one I have came from a Scorpion so it is not the same. If there is any of the small parts you need I will take it off mine. Sorry I can not supply you the right one Robin
  4. What help do you need? I have a flotation screen that I have salvaged if you need parts from it like cables and fittings. Robin
  5. I don't know if the British forces use them but the photo you show appears to be a European mainland vehicle. They are quite common over here on the net in the US sales but rarely seen in civilian hands up here. Ive always wanted one. R
  6. What a great model. I love how it is not all pretty and clean but instead weathered and looks sun bleached a bit. The weathering on the tyres and under the fenders is great. I also like the sand coloured bin on one side that doesnt match the rest of the vehicle that is so true to real life in how parts get swapped around and often don't get painted to match for some time. The stowage of traffic cones and the POL cans up top look interesting. I would love to see what inspired you. I wish I had time to get back to model making Great Job Robin
  7. Yes there is. there are a bunch of bilingual and knowledgeable Belgians on face book They have lots of pictures and know the vehicles It is the CVR(T) appreciation group. Robin
  8. I will go look at that detail in a day or so. Just in the door from farming, ground has dried up and it is non stop field work time now for a while. Many thanks Robin
  9. You must have bought one of the Shrewsbury area machines! Have fun with it. Im sure others like Sirhc will be along to tell you where the serial number is, I am fairly sure there is one. Will you be coming up to Aquino 2015 in Oshawa on Sta May 30th? Many CVR(T)s there. Regards Robin
  10. Griff, thank you for your insight, we are gathering information to help Chris Preston and his museum's Ferret in British Columbia, Canada. Robin
  11. Well, that is interesting Chris, thank you for posting that. Do we have any more please? Robin
  12. We are looking to find any pictures of this vehicle in service or now. It is a vehicle with a significant history behind it. Does anyone have a Ferret close to that number? Regards Robin
  13. Does anyone have any measurement of this tube from centre to centre of the bolt hole please? We are trying to sort a problem out with a Ferret engine bay and support tube and need to understand if the tube has been bent out of dimension. The vehicle is undergoing restoration and the folks dont want to use theirs of it warps the hull All answers greatly appreciated Robin
  14. Does anyone have a ferret or have ever seen one that has tie down points on the FRONT armour plate just up from the bottom edge? I am not asking about the ones on the sides at the front. I am well familiar with those. Can you post a picture of the vehicle please and do you know its original registration please? Robin
  15. Right grand job, have really enjoyed following this. I envy you with a trailer that age and data plates in such good condition. Dead impressed. Robin
  16. Rest in peace 10 FG 54 yours was a good life.:cry::cry: Robin
  17. Welcome to the forum John. Nice to see you make it in here. To everyone else, John is a top bloke who really knows his D + M and has taught me some interesting moves including the CVR(T) wiggle. See you at Aquino. Robin
  18. The venerable Series 3 came with a pintle hitch on the rear cross member. Some units saw need for another pintle hitch on the front bumper, for putting trailers into aircraft etc. Was there an official modification instruction? Can anyone share it and put it up on here? Does anyone have memories of doing it themselves unofficialy? Im trying to help a friend who needs / wants to fit one to his vehicle Thanks R
  19. Do you know anymore about this sale? I see there are other vehicles in the background but not listed Comments? Robin
  20. The cranes on these two vehicle look very much alike. We have a Bedford Calm that is rated at 3300kg at 1.92m from the hard point at the end of the first section before the second joint. This distance is just about impossible to lift anything off the ground as it is right at the edge of the vehicle. There is an Foden FH70 limber on the milweb classifieds that is shown lifting an old tractor. Im sure our crane would not be able to do the same lift yet the cranes look identical. Anyone able to comment? There is also a picture that I have permission to use that shows this Land Rover 1 tonne on the back of a Bedford CALM after a nasty accident, I wonder how it was put on the bed? I would love to be able to do the same capacity lift. R
  21. Very sad to hear that the museum is having to close. Glad that the tug and you wont have to move too far. Understood about the vinyl stripe. Robin
  22. Welcome to the forum from another farmer and MV nut but from Canada. Love to see some pictures some time. Welcome in Robin
  23. That looks very smart and very tidy and oh so much better than it did. You are so lucky that you can display the original military registration numbers etc. Is it the light or the material used that makes the yellow horizontal stripe look pale? Pictures and real life left me with the impression it was a bit darker, almost the same as the yellow at the back weight. Anyway, cracking job, no one would know its wasnt still in service unless you told them. Really looks the part now. Congrats Robin
