  1. Just to check the ignition timming will be a brain teezer. But a lovely object to have, and to actually install it WoW.
  2. That was quick, they were quite a lump.
  3. I wonder if any of the Chrysler multibank engines removed from their Shermans when they replaced them with radials still exist.
  4. When the shipping company closed, information seems to have gone into hideing.
  5. Lots of people will be interested, just a shortage of money and a kennel to keep it out of the weather.
  6. It has occupied my little grey sells but to no avail yet. Where is the cargo manifest when you need it.
  7. Have you Identified the mystery object. I have come accross someone in Northumberland who has dived the wreck several times over the years.
  8. Here is a newGenerator, it has got a little damage at the drive end. 24v 90amp. CSVS P1. ABR172R generator. ISO10926. 2920-99-733-8608.

  12. They are good at what they do.
  13. Thornycroft small vessel construction for the Navy seems to have been concentrated on the Thames at the Hampton Launch Works. Production of the fast and large vessels being at Southampton. Have you tried The Medusa Trust, they may have some information.
  14. You gave the overall length as 40 feet, If you have the measurement for the beam and moulded depth It may be possible to pinpoint the type and builder. I think at 40 feet that rules out a ships workboat.
  15. You probably will have to go bilge diving to find numbers on the keel. There will be some information deep down. Major bulkheads may reveal some information. Boat/shipbuilders, always leave there footprint. Its partly pride in their work. I think early pinnace power after steam was Perkins S6 and Thornycroft db2.
  16. It may just be me but just the hull construction does not look Thornycroft.. There were traditional boat builders building work boats for both harbour transport and warships, when these warships were disposed of the workboats were sometimes used on harbour duties. It will have an interesting history.
  17. Just a cursory look but it does not look like Thornycroft work. Possibly Mitchell, IoW.or Laurence, Leith. Good luck with your project.
  18. What a convoy Steam power and Fire Engines. Was your promotion because your welding is improving?
  19. Even welding new aluminium in workshop conditions is not for the faint hearted.
  20. I am not even sure that they are spats we can see and not the tail cone of another Mossie.
  21. In the Google shot it should be in plain view slightly left of the tail of TK 620. TK 620 seems to have been in service until 1957 when it is listed as SS 22-2-57.
