spanter
Hi if anyone is fed up with the relatives and wants a get away on Sunday the engineers and volunteers from the Shuttleworth Collection are opening up the aircraft workshops so you can get behind the scenes and find out what is involved in keeping these unique aircraft in the air. There will hopefully be a display outside the hangars (weather permitting) with a few aircraft out with the vintage tractors and ex War Dept traction engine and our 1903 deDetrich racer restoration and we'll be bringing our Dodge WC54 and hopefully the family's halftrack along. We are hoping to run the 1909 bleriot and convince the Storch owner to fly as well. More details here http://www.shuttleworth.org/tickets/event-details.asp?ID=211 Also the Swiss gardens will be open if you need a distraction for the other half and as it's having a large renovation from January onwards for 14 months so it'll be the last chance to see them as they are for a while.(and there is a large childrens play area on site as well) Hope to see some of you there Steve
spanter
Here are a few piccies from our open day which was well attended and dry if a tad windy All day the Bofors was available for children(and adults) to try their hands at and even though it's a bit of a H & S knightmare no one got hurt and everyone seemed to enjoy it. spanter
Just a quick bump to say this year's engineering open days are the 28th and 29th of December if anyone fancies avoiding the family and enjoying some mechanical escapism. Here's the link if anyone is interested? http://www.shuttleworth.org/tickets/event-details.asp?ID=217 Edited December 10, 2013 by spanter adding website link
