series 3 109 GS in the first Gulf war

I would like some help with the following :-

 

Were series 3 109 GS landies used in the First Gulf War ?

 

if they were ....What was the colour sceme?

 

also what were common markings for all units?

 

Has anyone any photos?

They were painted light stone and had the invasion chevron applied 4 days before the invasion (thats when the order went out). The chevrons were sprayed, brushed or even applied using a hand!

 

Other unit markings depended on how much time the unit in question had on there hands. It was not uncommon for vehicles to display no unit markings.

GS and FFR land rovers were used in the gulf as when the army pulled out there is a tale that they buried 50 series 3 landys as it was cheaper to write them off than fetch em back.

 

alot were painted light stone, light stone and black (once in operation)
