This is for anyone who has a either a centurion tank or a RR meteor eninge . I have to change the plugs on my ent but dont know how to do the plugs on the inside. the outer banks have been no trouble , but not sure how I can change the inner banks . Has anyone done this or have access tote h manual to give instructions. I have both the drivers manual for the BARV and the parts book. none of these has any information on the engine and drive change. Any help please.

Try machine mart, or on line Seally or Clarke tools. They both do sets of crows foot spanners, and most good ratchet sets will come with a U/J.

I recently worked with an old ex REME mechanic who worked on Cent's. He said that when they changed the plugs there were 2 they didn't bother doing as they were so awkward, so it would be worth your perseverance to do them all!

LOL, at thought of getting Snap On to custom build you a tool. They're way too expensive as it is. Probably be cheaper to swap the engine.

You would be surprised i got a custom spanner to do a john deer tractor and it was £75 new to my spec which was really a17mm combination spanner with the open end missing with a 1/2 " socket end on it and the ring bent 90 degrees to get in behind the altenator .

Saved a lot of ******* and lost knuckles so please dont rule it out but

looks similar to one of the tools

The photos are of a great help, good to know what your looking for.

I have a plug socket that fits the 24 v plugs but the dont know if the one on ebay is deep and wide enough. The spanners will be the hard to find or make. Should be able to give it a go though. Will let you know how it goes. Do i need to remove anything on the engine to take the plugs out? I cant see a way through the carbs, or is it clear with the right tool.
