Bedfordrl
Welcome to the forum mate ! Don't forget to take your camera on the Foden training and a crash helmet judging by the number of photos we have had posted of them lying on their side ! Good luck mate !:-D Ta for the welcomes . As an aside the Bedford was meant to be a Scammel Explorer . I was living in Pembrokeshire and there was an Explorer up for grabs at ,what could be called,a travellers encampment. I did a deal with this chap and when i went back to hand the money over he had done a runner. I think he got it the wrong way round. Anyhoo i went back to the friends house who had arranged the deal and there was this Bedford sat on his drive for sale and the rest is history. As an aside ,aside, when i joined the T.A. i joined as a specialist and was at that time the oldest new recruit at 41. They have put the recruiting age for specialists up from 39 years of age to 43 so there must a few on this forum who could join.

REME 245
I assume you like me were in 104 Battalion prior to the recent changes. Are they still happy for you to keep the Bedford at Bordon now the Specialist side has departed?

Are they still happy for you to keep the Bedford at Bordon now the Specialist side has departed? Yes, i am with 103 at Crawley now . The pass has run out so i have not moved her out yet, though may do this week, Roger at the museum did say that she could go in there but i have not been able to get in touch with him so she will have to come back home for a while. Bedfordrl
Cannot remember the colour, i think it was grey. I do remember it had a Rolls Royce Eagle Diesel with a crack in the compressor. I think it was a 1952 one. I do remember i was bloody annoyed and the Bedford seemed a poor substitute, but since i found that the Bedford (Nicola) shares commonality with most Vauxhall electrics and she was a damn sight more useful moving us back from Pembrokeshire we have grown to love her.
