gritineye
This is one of the most fascinating MVs I have come across, talk about think outside the box! No doubt someone will come up with more info and a couple of pictures of it when finished, seen and snapped at Beltring 2007.
Rlangham
Fantastic, i'm glad there's still at least one left. I'd love to see a photo of it completed, if anyone has any
gritineye
I've heard that at least one other is sitting in a museum somewhere.
Tony B
I've heard that at least one other is sitting in a museum somewhere. Love the idea of the diff in the sump. Wonder if Izzegoni got the idea for the Mini from this?
Nick Johns
The REME museum have a complete and original bug from the former Beverley museum
Timinder
It looks like a proof-of-concept model for the Lunar buggy!
gritineye
Love the idea of the diff in the sump. Wonder if Izzegoni got the idea for the Mini from this? Really neat, ain't it? And the pivoting rear spring hanger mount for articulation, carries four as well! The claim Suzuki invented the 4-wheel ATV back in 1983 looks dodgy, too! Nick, I can't find anything on the REME museum web site, or on the web any where, although I'm sure I've seen pics somewhere in the past, if anyone has found a site with any info could you post a link please? Degsy
Bart lists it with a photo showing Bug and amphib trailer but no more info than shown on owners board.
snowtracdave
Observers Fighting Vehicles Directory shows "Car Ultra Lightweight 4 x 2 (Standard)" but the 4x4 is only mentioned in passing in the text & no pic.
gritineye
Finally found a picture here, http://www.driveguide.com.au/4wd/Mil/Standard/JAB.html I'm sure I've seen BW pics of it, will keep looking.

In my copy (1972 revised edition) it is the lead vehicle in the section.

gritineye
Found one! Smart, want one, NOW! More like a 2+2 than a 4 seater by the look of the rear seats though. Just need a pic of the trailer now.

Degsy
Thats a rare beast in the back ground, a Hunting Percival Harrier, it could be folded up into a box shape for ease of transportand only 4 were built for air drop trials in 1957.
Degsy
Ther is a pic of the amphib trailer in the 1972 revised edition of Barts previously mentioned book.

commander
So what would be the price of these beauties if one or the other turned up for sale or is it a case that they don't Commander
Degsy
Hi Chris, because of the rarity I would have thought they would be virtually priceless.
Nick Johns
So what would be the price of these beauties if one or the other turned up for sale or is it a case that they don't Commander I would say they don't, as they were only prototypes, the pic of the partly restored "bug" at W&P is interesting that there is another one. A friend years ago owned a Harrier so that must be still around somewhere, built by the Hunting Percival aircraft company, made of alluminium and powered by a bike engine Edited June 20, 2008 by Nick Johns
