Dell02
I've been researching a WWII photo for what I think is a Norton. I found that the census numbers were allocated in batches. The motorcycle census number is C4532232 or C4532252 and was hoping to find out whether this was a number allocated to Norton and what year it would have been produced to assist me in dating this photo? Sorry I can't work out how to upload photo from the phone! Many thanks Lilian
welbike
Picture would have been far easier, but I'll check in a minute! Cheers, Lex
welbike
Ok, nothing there, with a quick search through the excellent book "British Forces Motorcycles" a must for the collector! But if you misread the number, and it is in fact C4582232 or similar, then it would be a Norton 16H. Cheers, Lex
79x100
4532232 and 4532252 had a "Z" prefix and were Bedford water tankers...so not possible. There were no motorcycles with 7-digit serials beginning with "453" Lex or I could confirm pretty well any individual component as Norton in seconds if you can get a photo to us !
