gary0003
on the 16h crank case drive side bearing mounting, there is a small hole at the bottom of the bearing holder - is this for a screw or something?
welbike
No, can't remember a screw there, when Rich and I are home again, I'm sure we can answer you. Lex

Ron
I expect someone has drilled a small hole to use a thin drift for bearing removal. I always do it on Royal Enfield engines and use a pop rivet shaft as a drift after heating the case in an oven. Ron
gary0003
I have been told the following: The small hole is a timed breather, but it's main function is to lubricate the outer ball bearing. If you look at your drive-side main-shaft you will see a corresponding hole to feed oil mist between the 2 bearings by crankcase pressure through the hollow main-shaft, so you might get the odd drip of oil when you park up. Thanks everyone.
