Gresty Lane Posted August 17, 2021 Share Posted August 17, 2021 Hello, I have recently purchased a Bedford J Type 700. It looks like a MJ chassis with a J Type cab. I have issues with the electrical system. Plenty of alterations and loose wires. The ignition switch has seven terminals. Any help with basic circuit diagrams would help. On the transfer box there are two levers: 4WD - 2WD and PTO. There is not any range change lever and wondered if there is anything within the transfer box gearing to change from Low to High range when selecting 4WD or 2WD. Sean N Posted August 17, 2021 Share Posted August 17, 2021 (edited) Brian, The wiring is pretty standard, particularly as regards colours, across Vauxhall - Bedford models so you should be able to work it out from a normal TJ or TK wiring diagram. As I recall it's not as heavy duty a chassis as the MK / MJ, closer to an R type, but very similar mechanically. The transfer box is high range in 2WD and low range in 4WD, they don't select independently. We need photos!
