Ron
I had to let my granddaughter Matilda down from taking her to her school prom at Dorchester in my Austin Tilly, as it blew a hole in a core plug at Bere Regis. I am in the process of getting the radiator re-cored and the water pump refurbished and have commissioned a new solid copper head gasket to be laser cut. Total refurb of the water works!! john1950
That work will sort it. I have not worked on a side valve for many a long year. Has granddaughter forgiven you?
Ron
Oh yes John! No question about being forgiven. I just feel guilty and annoyed at not fulfilling the task.........I've fitted four new core plugs to head. Radiator and water pump both back this week. Just waiting on the head gasket. bigduke6
Regardless of age they all think were strange Ron, Although my 7 year year old took me to a Military fair on Fathers day (she had been doing WW2 History at school) every question was whats this Dad, Whats this Dad, never a dull moment though and had a good time, she had he eye on a calvary sword for some reason, but a hefty price tag so settled for some cap badges. I was 8 when I started collecting Militaria........ so theres hope yet !!!
Ron
I commissioned a couple of 1.6mm soft solid copper head gaskets to be made. (I have a spare one if anyone needs it...PM me). I've torqued all, the 'new' nuts down in the correct sequence to 25 ft pounds. Rebuilt radiator next! Or what you have done yourself? Can you help me with this?
