Bodger Baz
strange land rover axles, can any one shed some light on them? any body want them? Baz
Richard Farrant
Baz, Are you sure they are Land Rover? One appears to have a handbrake cable going in to the back plate, something unseen on Landies. Could be ENV axles fitted to something else, as they are similar in looks, the end looks strange though..........not like any Rover I have ever worked on. fv1609
And what are they doing in the back of a RAF 2/4 Stretcher Rover Ambulance?
Bodger Baz
yep i see what your saying, maybe they are Jag? they are waiting to go for scrap along with the Ambulance. Baz
Poptopshed
Would agree they are not rover axles. I am thinking that the lever going into the case by the diff could be a part of a locking diff actuator?
fv1609
Is there much left of the ambulance? I see it has that RAF style power socket so that the batteries are always on trickle charge. I met someone at a show who was after one of those. Are there any other fittings? Often people buy ambulances striped of the fittings by the previous owner who threw them out went it went into camper mode. So fittings etc are often sought after. Bodger Baz
think i have it, i reckon they are MGB! as they used salisbury axles with knock off hubs by all accounts? Cheers for the input yes the ambulance is quite complete. Baz
Chrisg
the top one could be mgb the bottom one has got disc brakes not usually found on mgb
