Hoytorp, Norway

Recommended Posts

This weekend the annual meeting was held at Hoytorp Fort. This fort was built between 1912-18 to defend Norway from intruders from the east. (Sweden) As far as I know theres 1100 metres of tunnels. The fort once had 17 guns. And it took part in defending against the germans in 1940. As I had very little time to spend there I missed the tour, so I don't know very much what the different things are. I was however able to sneak across the bridge to get a good overview. Since I only spent only 90 mins at the fort, I'm sure I've missed a lot of things and good company. I had to drive 3 hours to get there and another 3 hours to get home, so that's my excuses for photos taken in a hurry and missing a few nice vehicles. Like the visiting swedish DUKW.

Here's some of the vehicles.

Hopefully I'll be able to follow up with the neighbour fort this weekend, which is named Trogstad. This is smaller, but have had a Nike battery installed. Just have to see if I can borrow a car since my Chevy isn't running. And I think it's to much time consuming to travel with the Dodge.

A warning though... I have a new memory card for the camera!!! :-o :-o :-o
