WHIZZ505
thanks.rang them-no luck Morning, are you after a complete lump or bits? And excuse my ignorance but is it the bta 5.9 turbo, / little daf lump you're looking for? rgds Whizz.
teletech
Correct, the MOD-fitted diesel for the CVR(T) is the BTA5.9 turbo. Other countries used other motors for dieselization. I wonder what it would be like to use one of the later common-rail, computer-controlled units with multi-pre-injection... I'm told they are quieter than many gas engines! I have a spare engine but I doubt it's worth the hassle of shipping back to the UK. Morning, are you after a complete lump or bits? Grasshopper
There are a number of differences between a CVRT spec 6BT engine and a truck spec one. You can use a civy spec 6BT in a CVRT, but you'd need to start with a CVRT one to swap all the parts from. The other way is easier as there are plenty of truck spec parts available to change them to whatever (non CVRT) specification you need.
robin craig
I thought someone would chime in on this already, but Andrew Baker seems to know all about Diesels in CVRTs
