Hi Julian,

Welcome to the forum. I am not too far from Hawkinge, but not visited in years, another mustdo. Best of luck with your restorations, feel free to ask questions.

Have you got the old pump as it might be repairable, or is it missing altogether?

Hello Julian

Welcome to the forum.

I noticed work was in progress when I visited a couple of weeks ago, I had an enjoyable visit and spent some time talking to an old friend, David.

Mention Julian from Oxford and he will fill you in.

So, apart from your fantastic second to none collection of Battle of Britain memorabilia, you have some interesting vehicles too, I remember Mike was always keen to find period 1940 vehicles.

I too have a 1940 morris CS8, that is in line for restoration soon, as Richard said, if you have the old one, it can be rebuilt, I'm afraid MCC 6 cylinder water pumps are hard to find, if you have nothing, I have one that needs rebuilding you can have.

Let me know

All the best

Jules

hi jules i certainly will, dave was with me last night , . since joining ive painted the 3 hurricanes (replica gate guards) the WOT ambulance the commer q2 tractor unit and the morris is part done, im re-making the wings and doing some major repairs to the scuttle panel and bonnet along with remaking the fuel tank (we will only use one) yes mike was a amazing guy and we are so glad he had the foresight to start the collection, dave is now in charge and we couldnt have a better leader ! this morris has stood for 25 years one ov our older lads has spend a fair bit of time working on her p(plugs oils wiring) which dosnt sound a lot...but hes had a stroke ! so its great to see him "at it",,! once id cleaned the carb bit ov fuel ..battery she ran !! and the clutch worked !!!. im in the possition that i own my own garage and body shop in whitstable so have some idea in what im doing ! apparently ... :D, ill look forward to meeting u there some time and if u give me warning ill show u round the vehicles mate

Welcome! Great to hear from THE Museum. When I was 'still at home' our family holiday for many years was in Folkestone and a visit to Hawkinge was the highlight for my Brother and I, have been back a few times since. Hope to revisit again before to long. Great to hear the vehicles are getting the attention they deserve.
