C.A.V Voltage Control Boxes

Whilst stripping my Morris PU, I found that the CAV VCB is a Type 75c - 19x and is larger than the standard WW2 type we normally see, ( Type 75b - 19x) ?

can anyone tell me why this other type may have been fitted in my PU, its been there for a long time, if not for ever ? I do know my truck was a wireless version, so could it be to do with that ?

is there a list anywhere ot website dedicated to C.A.V ?

here's a few photos, and for those of us interested in original paint samples, a very nice sample of Khaki Green No3 behind the CAV unit on the mounting bracket.WP_20141112_012.jpg

cheers

If you were nearer Jules I could test them with a Megger at their rated voltage & confirm their properties with a capacitance meter.

But if you are worried about them, just disconnect them if they were added for RF suppression, the regulator will still function without them.
