bowie
thanks alot, and are dodge command cars easily available unrestored? and what price would you be looking at for these? thanks
Guest matt
An unrestored Command Car is rare to find, for a runner or one with a sound body expect to pay at least £5000 if you can find one.you can get most of the CC specific parts as repros from the US.hood frames are very hard to find in any condition. bowie
excelent, and are there any post-war command car-a-likes? like the hotckiss is to the willys and ford.
Guest matt
I don't think there's anything that's close, not in the way a Hotchkiss is to a Willys or Ford.if you are looking for somthing along those lines though an Austin Champ would be one suggestion and you can get a good one for £2000-£3000. Matt.
Enigma
Wouldn't wanna compare a Champ with a Command Car.... well maybe weight comes close
Joris
I recently bought a WC-51: Serial number is 81752876 which rather odd because it seems to fall out of the range for WC51's. It's ex norwegian, imported to Holland in 1985. The number on the hood is 267481.

shopnut
Hi Jack, really love my CCKW's, still have 2 to date, always had one in ownership since around 1989, but in 1996 I decided to buy a Dodge WC53 Carryall, easy restoration and all parts supplied by the sellar/dealer, wrong on both accounts, took 8 years to restore and a huge parts cost, but I would not like to part with it, now back what I am used to, the CCKW. The cargobody is the type from mid to end 1943 So probably re-assembled from different types, no problem though. Its a goodlooking truck! Where in Holland do you live? Enigma
Photo taken at Beltring with my improvised cab and half doors. Works OK. Drove to England from Holland via Dunkirk- no problem! Its warm enough in the cabine to dry wet clothing in there!! P.S. It is for sale in Holland-Veeeeery expensive.... Thanks to 777AAA I finally know why I couldn't post pics!
