Chopa
Hi, I'm new here so a few lines to introduce myself. I first encountered this particular perversion when I met David Herbert in metal shop class at school and had to show him how to work a lathe chuck. (Remember David:"righty tighty, lefty loosey".) He introduced me to his old Bedford MWR, and that began many instructive weekends and evenings of tinkering, as well as several trips to Shottesbrooke old army vehicle gatherings back in the days when Bart Vanderveen (God rest his generous soul) was doing the calling. Back then tracked vehicles pretty much meant Bren Carriers, seeing an M3 Stuart was a pretty rare sight. I've only ever completed one full resto, and that was a Triumph motorcycle. My last effort, a 1959 Cadillac, was sold unfinished when I had to flee Tennessee one step ahead of the revenuers. So I guess I'll have to stick to little stuff! for anyone interested, here are a few pics of tanks and planes seen over this side of the pond: Aberdeen Proving Ground. https://imageshack.com/i/72aberdeenprovingground01j Dayton US Airforce Museum. https://imageshack.com/a/eMpq/1 Mighty Eighth Museum . https://imageshack.com/a/aMpq/1 Hamilton ON Warbirds Collection. https://imageshack.com/a/bMpq/1 Cars seen in my travels. https://www.facebook.com/steve.barnes.5437/media_set?set=a.10201226901652454.1073741826.1168591470&type=3 Edited May 7, 2014 by Chopa

David Herbert
Hi, I'm new here so a few lines to introduce myself. I first encountered this particular perversion when I met David Herbert in metal shop class at school and had to show him how to work a lathe chuck. (Remember David:"righty tighty, lefty loosey Sorry Steve, no I don't remember ! I was working my grandfather's lathe when I was 7 (bloody dangerous, wouldn't let my kids do that) so knew how to work a chuck. Maybe I was trying to change it and it wouldn't come off. Anyway, welcome to HMVF. Anything you want to know, there is someone here who knows about it - they found my old Austin Champ which really amazed me. Chopa
Finding that old champ was amazing. Guess those old buses are hard to kill. Any idea where your MWR is now?
Chopa
While visiting the Mercedes dealership in Fort Pierce FL last week I fell into conversation with the shop foreman. Turns out he is the proud owner of a "Deuce and a half". Here she is in all her glory, though perhaps running under false colors. Then driving home through the more rural areas of Central Florida, where there are more cows than people, I ran across this beast.
