MilitantGraham
I put a heated screen on my 110. The one I bought was 12v and had only two connections. I wired it via a relay and 30 amp fuse. When that broke I got a 3 wire one. I wired it with -ve to the centre and +ve to the two outer connections. It warmed up quicker than the old one, but kept blowing the fuse. I am currently using just the drivers side until I get around to running a heavier cable direct from the battery lead. I would guess the idea of the three connections is to make it dual voltage. Parallel for 12v, series for 24v.
Degsy
Interesting to hear you say you are running on 99% bio diesel, how long have you been doing this and have you had any problems?
nomad
no problems as yet- careful as I sayi am using virgin biodiesel Not reclaimed oil made into biodiesel. I believe there is a difference as I dont have to worry about how clean or how washed is my homebrew I will try my hand at home brew as soon as I have some more time but not sure if I will run the 200tdi on it Not even a filter change as yet- but i will do a big service soon as I must change timing belt and put in my Allisport full size intercooler I do notice not as much power and mileage is reduced slightly be interesting to see if I get some deposits on injectors- here in States we get bio from Soy- not rape seed likein Europe I believe this is why Volkswagen will not allow bio to be used and still keep warranty
Degsy
Land Rover say no more than 5%,I think they claim injector pump damage is likely if ahigher percentage is used which is the reason I asked the question.
nomad
interesting - i have not heard this- what I did hear was that the 200 tdi is a mechanical injection pump so I am not sure how the injector pump would get damaged. I do know that nitrile is not a good material for Biodiesel. I wonder if the seals would get damaged from the different PH of the bio - were there details from Rover? I have spoken with a few guys in Canada who work with Bio home brew and 200tdi's- no warning just make sure the bio is clean so common rail does not get jammed- 8 months 99% - no problems- yet?
