Masseyboy89 10
Hi - Is possible to: Date a CCKW 353 without a data plate? Calculate markings? There is a number on the RH side chassis rail. any pointers would be great!
Don Robert 10
Simon, give us the number and we will have a go. ..the chassis numbers are detailed against the various series type of production so you can narrow it down to a week or so..
TooTallMike 9
Have a look at: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?6777-GMC-Jimmy-Production-Data&highlight=cckw+chassis - MG
Masseyboy89 10
I've just taken the number off the chassis: CCKW-353362152R2 Many thanks!
R Cubed 10
I've just taken the number off the chassis: CCKW-353362152R2 Many thanks! CCKW-353 indicates type of truck and 353 indicates Long Wheelbase (164") 362152 vehicle chassis number A2 not R2 indicates Banjo axles, cargo body, no winch.
ZIL157 10
I've just taken the number off the chassis: CCKW-353362152R2 Many thanks! Hi, according to my information your truck has a build date of 1/7/44. Could you be mistaken with the R2 bit ? It would seem more likely that it is CCKW 353 362152 B2. This would be a cargo body with winch and banjo axles. For what it's worth you can make a reasonable guess at the army serial number if you consider that chassis number 362242 at less than a hundred from yours, had the army serial no.4315382. Hope this helps.
