25 pounder
Nice photo of a Sovjet "Landship Project " , experimental , but have they ever been constructed , as a prototype. It's well known , as the war progressed , tanks and ammo increased in size and caliber , e.g. Tiger I , Königstiger , Mauss ,....
Richard Farrant
You can see straight away how that hull would fail. Traversing undulating ground there is not enough suspension movement to cope and there would be enormous stresses in the hull. The only way around that is to make it stronger, which means more weight. Must have been a barstard to steer as well :-D
cosrec
sounds like a figment of somebodies imagination to me if it had ever got to mark 3 production it would be documented somewhere if it had run over anything the size of a molehill it would have broke in half. Where did picture come from FHM or modern version boys own Edited September 18, 2013 by cosrec
Lauren Child
If you like that, the T35 is worth a look. It had 5 turrets. http://www.wwiivehicles.com/ussr/tanks-heavy/t-35.asp

eddy8men
there is a width versus track length ratio that all tracked vehicles have to adhere too, this one does not and would never have been designed as shown but it looks interesting :undecided:
RAFMT
Oh God. This one resurfaces every few months. It was made up a couple of years ago by somebody and it took off so much that people actually started buying into it! Bear in mind the Russians did not use roman numerals, the real KV-6 was based on the KV-1 but slightly up-armoured if I remember it right. RAFMT
Yep, those long vehicles will never work off road??? The first one is meant for carrying ballistic missiles not for going on the front line, the one you show was used for carrying bridge parts. Try taking that up a decent sized hill! Also, most of the forward wheels will steer so nothing like the problems a fully tracked vehicle that length would have. But there was probably a reason only two were built. The second one is articulated, two sets of tracks to eliminate the steering problem and allow it to bend in the middle if it encounters a slope.
