Earlier versions of both (MK1/2?) have a buttoned front instead of the velcro but otherwise similar....... Hood was designed for insulation and hearing on carrier flight decks...... It is interesting, I have read reports that state post 82 RN clothing was to be less synthetic. Maybe just MOD PR? I have a cotton WD shirt from 70's but 80's/90's one is poly cotton?!
