Good day fellow collector/restorers

I have been collecting and restoring since 1980, I have always loved military vehicles probably because of the stories my mum used to tell me about the Americans, in her home town of Rockhampton in Queensland during WW2. Plus we had some WW2 photos of a Dodge command car with mum and her sisters sitting in the back seat.

I have moved on a little bit and now collect and restore Australian Vietnam era vehicles, the ones I travelled in when I was in the Citizen Military Forces ,I still collect WW2 vehicles but I am a little bit more picky about what I bring home.

I still have lots to learn and I am impressed with the knowledge on this forum.

Regards Ken

Hi Ken,

Welcome to the forum. You have good taste, a Bedford QL  I have had mine for about 26 years now.

Do you ever go down to the Corowa military vehicle gathering on the Murray river? I noticed you have a Canadian REL radar trailer, I am on the organising committee (KVE) and we have obtained one, the Zone Position Indicator trailer, to make in to the site office for the annual Corowa Swim-In & Military Vehicle Gathering. Looking for help to tidy it up at present, it will be in Sydney shortly.

regards,

Richard

Good day Richard,

I haven't been to Corowa ,but I do try to read all the stories from the various clubs and forums I am part of. It does look like a lot of fun.The ZPI trailer should make a nice office with an AC mounted in it somewhere.

I have 3 and 1/2 QLB's. I went to the War Memorial to track down registration numbers and the only one I can't find is the one I have restored :-(.

Thanks to everyone for the nice welcome, I have been slowly trawling through the sites and finding a lot of interesting things.

Regards Ken
