USAF fuel bowser in darkest Suffolk

Recommended Posts

Restore it and repaint it yellow and it would be what it is, a relatively rare 1950s USAF fighter-base tanker trailer.

Restore it and paint it OD and mark it up Army Air Forces, I suppose the average Joe-on-the-street wouldn't know the difference... ;)

There is apparently a far nicer one sitting at the side of the road in Nevada though, along with its bigger brother the 5000-gal F-6 which was also used by the RAF in the UK for shifting Thor missile fuel. :)

I remember this at Henham Rally, my uncle was part of the organising group (Mike Bishop) and we used to drive from Cheshire in my dads Foden. A LONG journey.

this was my dads truck, sold now he has retired from driving trucks as day job and moved into vintage tractors
