Smithy
For those that missed it the other evening this programme is on again at 6.30pm tonight on BBC Two. I found it really interesting and it's a shame that the service that they provide will no longer be around in its current form come 2016. iPlayer link to show here as well: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01r1z3g
exlandieman
Too true although it's a pity not more was made of the Mk3 and 3A, which are solely SAR machines. As an ex Crab SAR engineer it was sad to see that the RN have carried out 99% of rescues!!! Ours obviously did nothing, but sit there and look pretty in yellow. But when you mention SAR people instantly think of yellow helo's! Ive also been at Portland on Civvy SAR since '98 and am on tenterhooks awaiting the announcement of the SAR contract, We are being closed in 2017 so i'll be looking for a job.:embarrassed: Chris
