cripesamighty3rd Posted December 28, 2012 Share Posted December 28, 2012 Can anyone shed some light on the seats canvas tilt / colours / material used on jeeps that were used by the U.S.N in WW2, theres plenty of pics online with the standard khaki & some with grey or even blue,.,were these jeeps used by the navy trimmed out differently to the standard wartime MB"s & GPW"s,.if so why????,.,,,.,.also code letter colours,.am I correct in thinking olive drab jeeps had yellow markings while grey/light blue had black? ,.anyway any views.,unusual pics,ect id love to see,.,.,.cheers, Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Maurice Posted December 29, 2012 Share Posted December 29, 2012 Most USN jeep`s were olive drab , there is the od picture which look like they have a different color, probably grey with black underside , they will be olive drab under the bonnet , and seats and top are just standard olive drab too. Had a mate 1959 that bought a 1944 willys direct from the USN the only colour on that right back to base coat was gray and ALL lettering was white and have seen another with blue lettering, so who knows for sure.
