Retro fitting Messier dampers to a CVRT

Hi,

I am considering replacing the Armstrong dampers on my Spartan with Messier's, I understand that they have different positions for the mounting bolts?

Since my Spartan doesn't have any extra tapped holes in the hull near the Armstrong dampers, how difficult would it be to mark out the positions for Messier dampers? (If necessary)

Many thanks

Mike

keep us up to speed with your progress mike, we are running the armstrongs and discounted the idea of changing to messiers because i thought it would be too complex. vehicles with the messiers certainly have far superior off road capabilities and better road manners and with the greater availabilty make it an ideal conversion

Glenn did tis to his scorpion over the summer, using the template Chris refers to - it was a time consuming and awkward job but not particularly difficult in technical terms.

I have driven with mezzies and driven without any dampers, but never driven an Armstrong equipped vehicle. Given the relative ease with which these can now be obtained though i think it is probably well worth doing. Just make sure you have a bloody good drill..!

what type of drill is required for drilling the ally hull? Also, is it possible to drill the engine/gearbox covers. Some of the studs retaining the weather covers have broken off on my Samson. & I was considering drilling & tapping to replace them
