It's taken me a while to get around to joining this forum. Basic history is that I served my apprenticeship as a civvy with 27 CMD workshops in the late 70's as fitter MT, and the methodology has never left me! I inherited the Series Land Rover obsession from then onwards... Running a LR 109 ex-MOD as transport now, and still painting things green! :) I'm looking forward to chatting about some of the things I used to work on, and would be especially interested in meeting anyone who was at 27 REME in the 70's/80's. -Martin

Hi Martin,

Welcome........... I was at 44 Cmd Wksp from early 70's to 96, and I can well understand what you say about methodology !! On leaving when the place closed, I started a business in restoring and repairing military vehicles, so have had 38 years full time on them.....and green is my favourite colour to paint :D
