Ian L
Bedford QLR as found in 2005 by one of our North Oxfordshire MVT members in a field nr Bicester Oxfordshire. A few years later she ended up in a scrap yard where I found her and now in the process of being restored back to a QLD. Lots of photos to follow in the next few months/years of the restoration. Ian L
Rare find back in July 2011, a QLD GS Body complete & origional which I bought several months before finding a QL to put it on. The QL in the photo has now been turned into a logger Edited November 10, 2011 by Ian L

Ian L
The cab is in quite good condition externally but once removed from the chassis & stripped the extent of corrosion became quite obvious, there was very little floor left and everything that it joins to was gone. This was due to about 2cms of wet compacted straw/grass which leads me to think that it may of been used as a hay lorry in its civvy life ? guy66
Hi Ian, I though my Ql floor was in a bad state butt to see on your pictures we are in the same league. Butt al the floor panels are fairly easy to repair and easy to shape in the right form . The part under the driver seat must be the problem area on thees trucks and surely this is in relation with the battery's been kept under the driver seat . Keep up the good work..... guy66
Hi Ian, your QL must have been a QLR, the engine has the special sealed distributor, my bedford was also a radio type but sometime the distributor has been changed to a normal type. Where is your dynamo regulator situated (on the back of the cabin or in front of the driver) ? Guy

Guy Hi Guy its on the back of the cab (same as yours I think ?) we had the engine running for about 2 hours last week to check for frost damage, oil pressure etc which is the first time its run for many years but forgot to check the charging system before stripping & removing the cab. Did you get my PM a few days ago ?

Ian L
what is the enigne number, mine is QLR 36073, but I have the normal unscreen distribute. Hi Niels engine or chassis number ? mine is QLR45600 which I am told on good authority is early 1945. Looks like the poor old QLRs took a bashing after being sold off as Guy, Danny, mine & yours all started life as radio bodies and lost them. Niels v
sorry no my engine is QLR but the chassis is QLC. But yes they have really taken a beating, it is the second time that mine has extensive rust repair in the bottom of the cab. Ian L
After a 3 month absence from working on my QL and a rare day off I thought it was time to make use of this lovely warm winter sun Went to our local specialist timber yard and had all the wood for the Tail Gate/rear cross member & front body frame machined up in Ash for £119 as a 'favour' should of been £195 for the wood & £55 machining charge. Every plank has been machined to same size/shape as the old bits including the T&G
