US Jerry cans

Was at a sale today and picked up a few old jerry cans, some british but I believe the two below are US. One has a screw top and I think would have been WW2 era petrol can, the other has no obvious markings and a flip open top. I think this is for water, anyone know where it may be marked with a date etc?

20 and 5-1/4 stand for its contents, 20 liters or 5-1/4 US gallon.)

 

On the water one its probably on the top, beneath the handgrips. Concealed by the dirt.

Thanks for info, what sort of value (going rate not top whack) does the water can have?

WW2 dated would be more desired.

Value.. anything from a £5...for a petrol can (Dep on condition) ...£20 plus for a water can (WW2 dated ) they seem to be quite rare ..

 

these are prices I have seen at the Dallas dugout ..go to war and peace and expect to pay a lot more ..:wow:
