woa2
Lots of information in a 1946 book called 'Ford at War' which was produced by Ford UK for distribution to Employees and Agents. It does crop up for sale sometimes - try ebay or Google it in second hand books. Production of Ford WOT2 was 56,616. WOT2 chassis made by GKN, bodies by Briggs. Ford don't have any records of their Wartime production. It's only enthusiasts who have anything, but Motor museum Beaulieu do have some info. Are you just interested in Dagenham production? Stableboy
Many thanks for the details so far - fascinating, and not just from a vehicle point of view! looks like another night with no sleep - i'll have to trawl the net again to find the original info i found -gave list of models and quantities, which is what i want (god knows where my saved document went..) - iirc it looked like a page scanned onto the website so not findable from just a direct search.. Ford at War - the booklet with the hand drawn image on the front of WOTs, tractors at Dagenham loading pier, is that the one - am keeping an eye out for that. I have a 1945 hardback 'British War Production 1939-1945 A Record Complied by the Times, London' which gives all kinds of info.......but not a Ford vehicle production breakdown, which is what i need...
