Hen Hunter
Not sure about how to cut the holes - I need a plan or photo for the exact location and shape of the holes that need to be cut? I know an engineer locally - I think he has a decent plasma cutter so was thinking of getting him to look at it. As for the bulk heads, a one man band in Church Stretton is a top Aluminum fabricator and I think he will be able to make the alterations for me. Hen Hunter
I have removed the fuel bag and hoovered out all the orange and white crystals - I think they must be made of old petrol. Fuel bag now cleaned out and steam cleaned.

Hen Hunter
Inside the fuel tank compartment. Just thinking about drilling a hole in the bung in the corner as its seized solid.
Hen Hunter
Front end work to date. Rear end work to date. Also trying out some sand colour paint pre mixed in an aerosol - easy to apply but too expensive - the colour is very light.

Hen Hunter
Hi Martin, cheers for the offer - you may regret that great offer - I always have something that needs welding in a workshop! Where are you in BC ?
timbo
Great stuff Bruce, keep going - remember every job done, no matter how small is one job less to do! I find my motivation comes in fits and starts, but sometimes you can get on a roll if you get a bit of momentum up... The hardest bit in my experience is the point where you end up with a big pile of grubby bits, the temptation to sell the lot can be quite high! I find that once a few things are cleaned and painted, and you can start putting them back together it's a great feeling. It would be great to have the discipline to refurb everything first and be able to just go to a shelf of nice clean bits, but sometimes you just need to feel youve made a bit of progress! Cheers Tim

teletech
Thank you for the restoration thread, I'm just getting started on mine and it's inspiring to see people getting on with theirs. It's also nice when you look at your wreck and know someone had it worse in some area and managed to overcome. I'm looking forward to a 2015 update so I can see how things are coming. Looks like a good job straightening your front sponson, how big a hammer did you need and did you use and heat?
