  3. Hi chaps, A good friend of mine is in the process of restoring his swb Landover and was hoping to get a little bit more information on the markings/history of the old girl...it also appears to have an added oil cooler in the front that we're unsure of the need/purpose?? Any help gratefully received Many thanks martin

  9. Hi, yes..I did reply, but it seems to of dissapeared into the far flung realms of the internet!!
  10. Many thanks folks, I think my best actions would be to speak with the current mvt inspector and ask their views on what constitutes a complete vehicle then follow his/hers recommendations... At the end of the day its all up the them! From what I can see I should have no problem with the flatbed, or incomplete vehicle but its up to the inspector as to what constitutes a vehicle worthy of verification. If I have to do more work to it then so be it!! Thank you all for your insights and contributions.. Martin
  11. Thanks folks. That clears it up in my book.. next question??how reasonably complete is reasonably complete????!!! It currently starts, drives and stops....but there's some welding left to do and no wiring\indicators...it would be nice to get the ball rolling dvlawise as I'm sure I'll be finished before they even look at my paperwork!!!

  13. Hi, The restoration of my beloved k9 is nearing the end...but I am just a bit worried as it has a non original flatbed fitted rather than a radio body, with this be likely to cause issues when I have the mvt come and inspect the old girl to get an age certificate so I can apply for a v5?? Other than the bed its all original... Thanks Martin P.s. I'm trying to get a radio body but the owners much prefer there generator to live in it... People eh!!
  14. Hi Looks Good...but the best thing you will ever do for your welding is clean all the paint and rust from around where your welding!! in the photo is doesn't look like you have! keep up the good work. kind regards Martin
  15. Hi, I came across this nice little trailer today and just wandered what it is? ..Its very complete and in fairly good condition. It runs on 9.00 20 tyres which make it a fair size and height.. I am yet to make an offer but not really sure how much it is worth? The plan is to tow it behind a k9. If I manage to get it then I may have a widetrack sankey going for reasonable monies... regards martin
  16. hi, Top job, looks great...interested to see how the paint holds up..is it expensive paint?? I use a curtain as a removable spray booth in my workshop and would like to paint it white (currently black, too dark for a booth!)..but don't want flakey paint!! regards martin
  17. Hi, If you get stuck I could do them..would have to be palletised though as im in Shropshire.. Regards Martin
  18. hi, everything you need to know plus more you don't can be found here... http://campkahler.com/files/princess-manual.pdf. be ready for a 12mb download though! The k9 and princess share the same block/head so theres lots of usefull info for you there, valve clearance etc... Please bear in mind that if you skim a lot off a k9 head there is a risk the oil feed in the cylinder head to the rockers can become misaligned as it is on an angle, I found this out the hard way! Martin
  19. Brilliant, I shall give them a call tomorrow and see how much its going to set me back! many thanks
  20. Hi, Is it possible to get a replacement oil filter for a K9 from anywhere? I have seen a post with pictures of a ql filter housing that holds a modern style screw on filter inside it, http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?37238-Where-can-I-get-oil-filters-for-a-bedford-Ql, I think they come from http://bygonebedfordbits.co.uk/?page_id=4..that looks very similar to the k9 oil filter? would that fit e.g. same threads on the housing to the pipes?? cheers for any help martin
  21. Facet have always been decent pumps for me on a varity of motors..reasonable money too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Facet-Gold-Flo-24V-Fuel-pump-476088-IP088-/200966357493?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eca8741f5 martin
  22. Hi wally, That is encouraging news indeed! I just don't know what course of action to take now! maybe Deepcut do have it but the gentleman I spoke to missed it on a quick search through? He discouraged me from sending in a record enquiry form and £25 on the basis he couldn't find it.. I am new to this game and am unsure on how the record systems work...do Deepcut have the same records as Beverly? Or is there any way of access to the Beverly records? It would be easier on my brain if I knew one way or the other if it exists or not! many many thanks for your help and patience! martin
  23. hi wally, first off I must start with an apology..i had misread my chassis plate and my reg is a BP.. I again spoke with the chaps at Deepcut today but it appears these record don't exist either. my full reg is 89 BP 84. contract no 6/veh/16694. My sincerest apologys for wasting anyones time with my misleading info! If it helps I do feel like a pillock! many thanks Martin
  24. Hi I spoke with the very helpful chaps at deepcut yesterday and unfortunatly it looks like they dont hold the record cards for bg registration vehicles...if anyone happens to have these stashed in there attic im sure they would appreciate them as would I!! martin
