oily
I know screens for saracens did exist, once. This is up on ebay at the moment, and I'd like to know if it is for the good old Saracen...:-\ I have a suspicion it is for a Ferret, though.... Toolman
Does look like my ferret one. Has the saracen the same hatch?
afvnut75
Thats definately for ferret ! But i cant see why you couldnt use it on an early type saracen hatch unless the hatch opening is taller and wider, Cant use it in mine though because its got the heavier hydraulic assitted rams type front hatch for northern ireland So im going to get wet and cold whilst driving, OH well its all character building lol
ferrettkitt
Ask Bob Grundy if he still has any left http://www.britishmilitaryvehicles.co.uk/spares.htm
John Pearson
A saracen screen is just a flat frame, maybe 14 inches by 10 with triplex glass in it and a couple of rotating clips on the short sides. It goes INSIDE the front escape hatch, (which is why the wiper faces backwards from the hatch). I have one, don't use it as it is a pain in the butt with a very narrow field of view: either drive with the escape hatch open or just the viewing hatch but with no windscreen, you can get your head closer to 'see round corners' a bit more. Sorry, no pictures!! Saladin one is like a ferret's though except different shape of course.
