panzerjaeger
A Czech friend has asked what the initials S.I.D. stand for; I should know but can't remember. Panzerjaeger
ArtistsRifles
In automotive terms - "System Information Display" - probably not what it is for a Chieftain though!!
Richard Farrant
In automotive terms - "System Information Display" - probably not what it is for a Chieftain though!! Something to do with stealth or deception I think, but cannot recollect the actual meaning of SID.

antarmike
Something to do with stealth or deception I think, but cannot recollect the actual meaning of SID. An attempt to reduce radar reflection by adding extra plywood facets, etc, blanking off road wheels etc, and adding grass skirt to reduce dust kicked up hence observability via dust cloud... but I don't know what S.I.D. stands for either
Dingo 44
SID stands for Signature Integration Demonstrator - a sort of "Stealth Tank" - it is a tank equipped with different solutions in order to test how to bring down the signature. The tank in the movie belong to Bovington Tank Museum.
